broke mine out of jail at 2PM today. rushed to range for last hour before closing.

thoughts???

awesome as awesome can be!!! there's no doubt, buy it. if you find one, buy it. period.

and as for "ridiculous price" thing, yeah, it sucks all around. but, you get it and 5 years from now, you'll have long since forgotten what you paid but be happier than ever you bought it. and no, not so you can resell it later. you won't want to.

Absolutely
The controls are identical to a regular AR so you can practice your AR drills for less $$ (Well you could if you can find ammo). Its accurate, easy to maintain and light enough for a kid to learn on and the adjustable stock shortens the LOP so a kid can actually handle it properly.
And its a bargain to boot S&W have made a real winner with this rimfire.

As everyone has said its an awesome little rifle. Fun as hell. My girlfriend loves it and usually runs about 700-900 rounds through it when we go out. She can do about a 2" spread at about 200 meter. I'll admit she's better with it then I am but she gets a lot more practice. I know because I have to reload the magazines "cause they might break her nails". Dang it... The Mags are cheap if ordered from S&W directly took about 3 months to get mine after placing the back order but worth the wait. Use a chop stick to bring down the mag spring while loading to save your fingers its not a design flaw its a California law thing we don't get the little button like my brother in Florida does. Price is not cheap but its not over priced when you see the quality of the barrel and other parts even the stock springs are really nice although I opted to install the JP springs. Scope it and you gave a great rifle to practice shooting. If you can hit it with a 22LR you can definitely make the shot with a 223 / 556 on the big brothers.
