Default Transfers between family members

Ok some back story before i ask my question. I want to get a Springfield 1911 "range officer". Ive been told that you cant buy one in california yet. I am in the marines here in california and im from california as well and so is my little brother. My brother is currently stationed in Cherry Point NC but still maintains his califonia driver licence.

My question is can he by the pistol i want and transfer it to me here in california?

your bro shouldnt have an issue buying the pistol as long as he is over 21 . All he needs is his Mil ID , State ID and a set of orders bringing him to NC. Goes to the courthouse and gets a Pistol Permit .

now from there you need to look into the Intra Family transfer thing

I don't think Intra Family transfer will work between brothers. It has to be Grandfather to father to son and grandson, or reverse the order.

What he could do would be to give gift it to his father and start the process.

If I'm not correct someone will be along to correct me.

Unfortunately not.

Penal Code 16720
As used in this part, "immediate family member" means either
of the following relationships:
(a) Parent and child.
(b) Grandparent and grandchild.

Parent/child, grandparent/grandchild, husband/wife only
Note the text in Penal Code 16720. It really means ONLY those relationships, in either direction. Your brother, uncle, cousin or any 'in-laws' are NOT included.
