Default Bachelor party in Stateline, NV - good place to go shooting?

I'm setting up a bachelor party in Stateline, NV and a bunch of us want to do some shooting in Free America. We'll be right smack in Toiyabe National Forest so does anyone know a good place to go shooting there?

harvested this offa a diff calguns post:

"Between Carson and Minden off 395 you can go East on Johnson Lane or Stephanie Lane and just head out into the desert. BLM land. Lot's of room to let loose and some decent desert wheeling too. Old mining roads etc. There's a nice hill to climb up just to the North of Stephanie."

That's northern Nevada it's better to turn at the 7-11 and turn east just before the dump and your on BLM land. Lotsa safe places to shoot. Johnson & Stephanie have too many houses and not a lot of backstops.

Last time I was in Nevada we went and shot at a very nice range in Boulder - but that would be 30-45min drive. Might be fun to find a place you can shoot from Nevada and have your targets in Calif.

We go to Carson City (and fill up at Costco). There is a rifle and pistol range off Flint Road.

Are you talking about Stateline off the 15 freeway, or Reno stateline?

Stateline, NV - south shore of Lake Tahoe by Edgewood Golf Club. I'm looking for a place off Kingsbury Grade Road (highway 207)

I'll bet you won't find legal shooting on Kingsbury Grade. It's too civilized up and down both sides. See the Carson City / County public range, Flint Road off highway 50 east of Carson City. Rifle out to 300 yards, bring your own targets and stands. Pistol to 50. Also, private alcoves for short range work. And it's free.
And when you are done, the fun houses are right up the road.

Anyone have any other suggestions? I am going to a bachelor party in a month and we are looking for a place to go shooting too. Basically want to go out into the desert and shoot/blow things up without having to worry about finding a meth lab.
