I guess it's just me, but $50 is just a drop in the bucket...Like Jack L said, I'm out shootin, havin fun, almost every weekend...When I spend $70 for 100 rounds of .223, $50 for the 500 rounds of .22lr doesn't make me flinch...I am very well aware that it is expensive compared to what it used to be, but then again so is gas...I still drive where ever I want to go with the A/C on full blast...I run my A/C or heater in the house whenever I feel like it too, I'll be damned if I'm going to sit around in my own house and be uncomfortable to save a few bucks!

On the one hand, congrats to the OP for even FINDING the ammo. And if he's willing to pay for it, so be it. On the other hand, ammo prices will stay high as long as the "market will bear it".

If those cases of $50 .22 would sit on the shelves for a few months, they might go down to $40, then $30, then $20. But they won't because you need ammo to shoot.

Everyone has valid points, either way...I can tell you 1 thing, $50 and access to a private rancher's land with tons of ground squirrels, well worth the money! LOL The picture in my avatar is on my friends family's land. They have cattle and the grounds are infested with holes full of ground squirrels. After the first time out there with my AR, I realized that .223 was both too messy and too expensive to waste on the squirrels. It's cool to see the impact from far away but then when you get close and see the damage, it's nasty! I have a .17 HMR as well, but for 50 to 75 yds, might as well use the .22 as it costs about $150 for 500 rounds of .17HMR

No thanks, this is the reason people (shops) keep jacking prices up. 10 cents/rnd for .22 no thanks I'll shop the more respectable shops (and I am a fan of RCGX) in regards to ammo prices

Whoa! Holy crap!

I shot through a box and a bit of that at last weekend's Appleseed! LOL! Of course I paid whatever Walmart charged me for it last October, probably $20/box, and I cringed at that price since it's only 325 rounds.

Seriosuly, like housing, at some point people are just going to stop buying it.
But, that's a dead horse we're flogging.
