I don't know if you have noticed but there is a bit of a panic/frenzy going on right now?

Yes except I don't see how Midway "miscalculated" a two year difference in backorder dates.

Midway changes the dates all the time. If you keep checking, they will be in stock before 2014. Hornady always has crazy backorder dates.

Um. Maybe MidwayUSA should say no more ammo sales on this product until we know when their will be allotted stock available to them.

Was OP around in 2008? This is what to expect until the frenzy is over sorry to say. Midway has no control over it. The ones to blame are the ones buying everything in sight because there is "a frenzy which means we must buy"!!

Based on my observations of 2008 bullets bounced back faster than primers/powder.
But this is way weirder than 2008 was.

On a side note, and not to rub salt in it, Hornady 75 gr HPBT is my favorite flavor of .223
I accidentally double ordered from grafs before this madness broke out, now I'm glad I made that little screw up. I ended up with double the Sierra 168 gr as well.

I've never understood why people wait for something to go wrong before they stock up.

In their defense, Midway has shown these bullets "Out of Stock, No Backorder" for a while now. It's just that the estimated in-stock date keeps changing.

LOL Yeah I placed an order when they were supposed to ship a few weeks ago. Maybe my hopes to get anything before this summer were optomistic.

I don't have as much as I'd like , but more than some.

Hey, beats the $1.50 a round some guy is asking for wolf ammo...LOL

looks like it is back to March of this year now. Lol, 2014 for bullets. What the hell is going on with these panic buyers. I had to get a 223 shell plate yesterday, and only 1 out of 5 places actually had 1 in stock. And they only had 1.

whoever is making those bullet swaging dies that you can make .22 lr jacketed 55 gr boolits should be selling a lot of em. I just wish some one came out with a more affordable set. they could be making a killing right about now. I don't understand why a company like Lee Precision doesn't make these available for an affordable price. they should do it before the gubment decides to regulate those too.

Well, they most definitely sent me an email saying I "had too many backordered" and cancelled 1000 of them.

I had 2000 on backorder.

The real bummer with MidwayUSA is they dont honor their back order pricing.

If you place an order and the item is $89 but on B/O when it comes back in stock you will pay the updated price if Midway chooses to raise it.

I go to the websites and sign up for product arrival notifications. Natchez and Midway offer that service. So I just signed up for several on both sites. 2 days later I recieved a notification from Midway and I ordered 1000 of those Midway Dogtown 55gr FMJHP. Easier for me to do that than to constantly check the websites.

Here is an outstanding "how to" vid. The die set is about $130

Cheaper. Or a hobby for those who like to create their own things or tinker. Experiment, create your own loads. Why spend all that time reloading? Just buy them at a store. Why do people build hot rods and waste all that time and money. You never will get the money out that you put into it. Like anything else, different reasons.

If you live long enough, everything turns out for the best.

Midway has always refused to ship me components, for some unknown reason (at least to me), they will not ship components to SF.

So now it is a good thing they won't ship to me, I don't waste any time waiting on backordered components... call me Mr. Sunshine

Its different because the gubmit is controlling all the ammo, primers, powder... They have it locked down. This is not Joe America buying all the guns and ammo. Just saying

When you are on back order it means that you are in line for a future shipment.

If their cost is 20% higher do you expect them to eat the loss? Midway is one of the better online retailers and I do not think they are trying to gouge like some.
