Need to figure out what you want and order it, Big 5 also has a good selection of 30-06 rifles

Ok got a Savage Trophy 30-06 yesterday. I hate 10 day waits!! Anyone know if 180 gr is ok in 30-06? Turners had a hand full of those on the shelf. I am worried that's too much. Or is it ok but brace myself?

By the way Thx Richard at Corona Turners!

180 gr should be fine for your gun, its going to kick harder than 150gr fmj.

id say: 150gr for target shooting & hunting, 180gr for bigger game hunting.

my grandfather only used 180gr for hunting. always said it was more accurate. now that he's passed and i have his rifle, i've used both, and 180gr is indeed more accurate but it kicks quite a bit harder. if you're just plinking or practicing, use 150gr. but during these ammo crunch times, use what you can find.

i'd give you a make and model for reference, but the stock is hand carved and the barrel has zero markings on it, so i have no idea what it is. Pops like to tinker and make his own stuff.
