Default Prev. Firearm Training Increase Chances of CCW Procurement?

Aye' Folks,

My friends and I were interested in taking ISTM's two-week long full-immersion tactical-medic classes, and I believe they undergo POST training in the process; my question is: Does this type of training aid in improving your chances for areas like the County of San Diego when it comes down to getting a ye' or a nay for a CCW, or does it boil down to your good-cause statement? I'm under the impression that it couldn't hurt, but I'd figure I'd ask, hoping that someone has been through a similar process.

POST PC 832 Firearms Familiarization requires Live Scan and DOJ clearance prior to taking the course. Have you gotten that taken care of or are aware of that requirement?

I am not familiar with your tactical-medic courses. I assume its like a military medic course?

IMO it would be up to the Sheriff or PD in your area. Even reserve deputies don't even get the privilege of utilizing full LE carry while off duty. They still need to apply for CCW so I'm sure that training will help assuming that the cause is justified.

http://www.tacticalmedicine.com/ - This is the location here. If you scroll to the bottom of the first page, you'll be able to see the qualifications/certifications, C.E. Hours., et.cetera.
