People need to refrain from purchasing such large amounts of ammo and storing it as if they are going to go to war. Those people which of whom are hoarding are throwing off and fabricating a shortage that should not exist. Prices are at an all time high and hoarders are promoting this behavior by buying all the ammo they can possibly get their hands on.

This is just a public service announcement to let people know who is really causing this so called shortage. Also, AWB has fallen out of senate and put on the back burner by the democrats. So, no more scare of an AWB for now.

Lets all stop buying everything and let the market settle back down.
I approve this message.

We should also stop buying gasoline until the gas industry calms down...

The only ammo I'm "hoarding" is Yugo milsurp. That's because it's unlikely we'll see any more of it, I have a rifle that needs brass food, and commercial brass x39 is about $.80/rd.

I've started a lead hoarde, though!

I disagree. The shortage us due to newbies ( you may be one by your join date) who just bought a gun due to gun control. Since last thanksgiving if 500,000 newbies bought hubs and they all buy 1000 rounds then do the math. That plus the Feds and FEMA button one billion rounds.

It's free country I'll hoard if I want. If this were a true shtf deal. All you without a hoard are dead.

smart man. No different than gold/silver, oil, stock, etc... buy low

People hoarding ammo at current prices are no different than the dimwits that bought housing in CA when a $300K was selling for $700K... most semi-intelligent people knew it was over-inflated and wouldn't be that price for long (and certainly wouldn't go up).

Ammo won't be the price it was pre-panic... but it will definitely come down from what it is now... then yes, hoard at that time

doesn't mean you should hoard now though. Buy minimal and wait for pricing to stabilize.

I don't buy overpriced, hoard or flip ammo for profit. Its crazy to see some of the prices on these sites and it goes out of stock. That is just adding to the current market.

Also I am the guy who went in the store the other day and bought only 4 boxes of rifle ammo and left 10 or more on the shelf.

actually, it would work.

If everyone (or VAST majority) boycotted one brand (not all brands for one day, or one station, but the entire company indefinitely) - they would be forced to lower prices in order to get people to return... in turn, other brands would be forced to lower prices in order to stay competitive.

The problem is; it's impossible to get everyone (I mean everyone) on the same page. So we get raped.

We have to start some where, Sell me all of your ammo at pre-panic prices. I will tell every one the panic is over. I promise.

I wonder if there are people out there that do in fact try to do gas boycotts...

years ago there was an email that got passed along to boatloads of people... but it was pointless... The idea was to boycott all gas for one day... completely asinine actually...

One day doesn't do a thing, since everyone will need gas eventually. Boycotting one brand until they lower pricing to stay in business would work.

I will hoard as much ammo as my wallet will allow me to. To me that's a minimum of 5K rounds per caliber, per location stored. It's a free market, it's not my fault people don't stock up, then cry about it. I really don't care what other people have or don't have.

that's all fine and well if they are hoarding to sell, but i don't see a problem if they are hoarding to shoot. heck even if they are hoarding to sell, so effin what. people quit whining and go shoot. or go fondle and look at your weapon lovingly and wish you had ammo. me? i reload so i'm going to to the range and go shoot. g'night!

I've seen 223 at turners and didn't buy it. I don't have much left for myself but I just can't stomach the increased prices. I refuse to be a slave to the madness. I work too hard to earn my salary to throw it away.

I've also always believed that owning more than you can carry in the event you need to evacuate your home is too much.

I'm disappointed with how most people have reacted. It just shows how afraid and ignorant most of the population is. It's a bad time America and the AWB is nothing more than a clever distraction.

Maybe in the name of fairness we should have an ammo redistribution.

Agreed. What's the point of owning barrels of rounds if you're just going to have to evacuate your condo anyway but again, that's up to the buyer...

I don't consider that to be hoarding, that's using and replenishing. If you shoot a lot, cool.

It's the people stacking thousands of rounds in a damp closet and never using it that puzzle me. Maybe they plan to load up their pickup truck with all 800 pounds of it if the SHTF and hope it still fires...
