Default New XD9

I have been looking for a 9mm pistol to replace the Beretta 92FS I traded away just before the madness started. Originally I was looking for a Glock 19, but they have become scarce as hens teeth around here.

I was in my LGS last Sunday and a guy came in asking if the store buys guns. No one at the counter had the authority to say yes, so I piped up and asked what he was selling. Turns out he had a new-never fired or had a round chambered Springfield XD9. Came in the box with the essentials pack (not really much there, cleaning brush, lock and two magazines) + two extra magazines and 30 rounds of some kind of Federal hollowpoints, for $500.

I didn't know very much about the XD line of pistols, but the price seemed reasonable for a new gun so I bought it. It really is new and it doesn't even look as though the slide has been cycled very much.

The dreaded ten day wait is up on the 28th so all I can do until then is look at the pictures I took.

This is not a "how did I do?" post, I have done some post purchase research, and it seems that they are well thought of so I am happy with the deal. I just thought I'd share my experience with everyone and show that there are still deals to be had.

Its a real nice gun. Ive shot one a few times, and almost purchased one before. I havent heard anything real bad from anyone about it. And for $500 sounds like a great deal to me.

Congrats, I think you paid around what it would go for brand new in a store after tax and all. Did he initially say $500? I'm thinking as he intended to sell it to the store he was prepared to take less than what he could got for it private party.

Anyhow, I'm really happy with my XD9, I just need to get a trigger kit for it to get rid of the massive amount of take up and creep.

Nice deal . Now a days most gunshops don't have a lot in stock so you got a great 9mm at a good price. If your not happy with it you can put it on Calguns and get your money back no problem.

Congrats, I have a little over 5k rounds through mine with no problems at all and if you ever want to upgrade the trigger I would recommend a PRP.

That was his price. I felt it was pretty reasonable and didn't even try to grind him down. No tax and my LGS only charged me the $25 DROS fee, so $525 total.

I bought mine a month ago for almost exactly 500 after (LA) taxes and fees. The 2 extra magazines and the ammunition make yours a real bargain.

Haha damn, I came across the same type of situation about a month ago at a pawn shop. I was killing time until an appointment came up so I figured I'd look around this random pawn shop. Right before I was about to leave a guy walks in with a backpack asking if they buy firearms. They told him they don't deal with firearms so I jumped in with a quick "Hmm well whatcha sellin' " He replied with "a Beretta Px4.. lookin' for around $350" - Hell of a deal - I didn't buy it because I have no interest what soever in a Beretta Px4 but I told him he should list it here on Calguns. I did mention that if he had a Springfield XD, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

I took it out to the range the other day. What a hoot! Once I adjusted to the six o'clock hold, I was beating the heck out of the dueling tree and playing a tune on the plates. 270 rounds from a brand new gun & zero failures of any kind.

I like it!

I recently bought the exact same set up (minus the ammo) for the exact same price. Shot it for the first time today and had a good time with it. Mine shoots 100% to the left half of the target. Somehow though, I don't think it's the gun. ;(

You are probably using too little of your finger on the trigger. I know this because I have a tendency to do the same thing. When you use too little of your finger you tend to push the gun to the left if you are a right handed shooter.

So its on a layaway plan as I type this, and the wife hopefully wont find out til I bring it home....hahaha.
