So here's one you may all consider heresy:

I am not a fan of the M1903 Springfield.

I like battle rifles fine. I have a cherished M1917, I've shot and enjoyed Enfield Mk I's and III's, don't have much bad to say about K31s, Mauser 98k's or Mosin-Nagants. I've even shot Krags and had a ball. But the M1903 is not something I like to shoot.

The stock fits me funny. It's narrow and is at once uncomfortable on the shoulder and gives a poor cheek weld. I don't like the feel of the trigger. Don't like those busy, improperly positioned sights (though M1903A3's are good). The magazine cutoff is silly and just one more thing to go wrong when you need it. And most of all something about the recoil just feels all wrong -- sharp and with a turn to it, like it has a high bore axis.

Yes, I understand it's well loved, served honorably, etc. You can have yours and that's fine, but if you gave me one I'd trade it. Just how it is.

LOL...what did you leave as an option ?

you actually named 4 of the guns every gun owner should own. im not "anti" mosin....but most mosin's are typically 6 MOA guns which is why they used to go on sale for $79, and other than collectability...they serve no purpose. which is NOT to say i dont want a couple, because i do

but heres my list, most due to exotic caliber that i cant find, and doesnt really exceed a caliber already 50 yrs in production and readily available

M1 carbine....worthless other than collector value
any "sniper" rifle other than 7.62x51 or .50BMG
FN 5.7
.40SW i never jumped on the bandwagon.....doesnt do anything .45 ACP or 9mm cant do
10mm, its .40 magnum, and i cant usually find it walmart so i dont need it

im sure theres more, but those are tops

AK, SKS, any Glocks, Ruger handguns and any revolver.

With the AK/SKS, it is mostly a throw back to feelings from the Cold War; however, I have to say that part of it is rooted in aesthetics. I hate the grips/ergonomics of Glocks. They may be very good weapons, but they just don't fit my hand right. All the Ruger handguns I've tried just feel kind of clunky. I'm just not into revolvers. Again; just an aesthetics and personal preference issue.

CZ and Glock.
I'm probably one of the few who hates the circular line running along the inside edge of CZ's. It looks like a toy to me.
Glock for obvious reasons.

not a fan of Glocks or AR15s. I like AK and SKS and like XD and M&P but just can't like the ergo of glock gen 1-3. yet to shoot a 4 so that could change my mind

1911. It's not that I dislike them, I think they are a great looking gun and appreciate the historical and technical value.

I just have no use for one and came into shooting without being trained on one early.

Also... the AR pistol. Again, I'm sure they are fun but I see no actual use barring an experiment in what can be done and a range toy. I don't want one because just seeing someone shoot one is enough.

I'm still waiting for someone to say "Tupperware guns".

No interest in 1911's, I can't stand SCAR's and I'm starting to look at my own AR-15 as a red headed bastard stepchild.

Ar15 and anything like it or tacticool. Love aks but only communist ones nothing built by arsenal or something like that. Sks ugly mosins cool. Hate .40 cal love 10mm. Like glocks not mp9. Don't like ruger or Taurus or kimber. Brown or green guns are ugly. .22 and .25 are useless calibers. Bullpups are ugly as sin. Don't like super expensive guns like scar. Don't like rare calibers

Default Guns Everyone Else Wants, but You Don't

I dont have any interest in any striker fired plastic pistol, i also think the 10/22 is ugly and awkward to shoot

It's mostly that the ergonomics are just not a natural fit for me, I have to REEEEALLLY concentrate to shoot them halfway decent.

My SP-01 in comparison is like an extension of my hand and points very intuitively.

I do think Glocks are ugly, but if I shot one better than I shot other guns I really wouldn't care what it looks like.

On another note, I'm somewhat surprised by the number of people responding that they would never buy a CZ.

After reading 8 pages of this thread I have come to the conclusion that there is not a single firearm that everyone wants.
Being newer to firearms I tend to want one of everything. The exception being any revolver with a black rubber grip. It just seems wrong.

S&W MP's in any caliber, they look fine, but meh, (except the 22lr version, that i'll take) , Bushmaster ACR (i'm a scar guy so go figure)

I'd say CZ too, but im a bit intrigued by some, but still, nothing i'd starve to get

Gas piston AR-15s. I'd accept one if it was free, but I don't ever plan on buying one.

And maybe it's because I've never actually used one, but I don't get some people's obsession with Garands.

1911, XD, mini 14, sks, any non left handed bullpups, and any gun with a crappy duracoat job. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy seeing a gun with a nice camo job, but if you're going to paint a $1000 gun, it had better look smokin'.

Digicam? Don't come near me.

ok, rant over.
