Default After Armageddon - History Channel Documentary

If you all haven't seen After Armageddon, it is a pretty good show about what happens to a family that has zero preps after a TEOTWAWKI flu outbreak happens.

Just watched it. Excellent video. They covered a lot and the scenario seems pretty realistic.

Yeah I remember seeing this, in fact I think about it every now and again. Mainly about how dumb they seem, (the family portrayed), and how they just can't seem to get it through their heads that like as they knew it had changed.

To be honest I felt like they had it to easy for all the mistakes they were making, at least until they got out of LA. And the son, completely useless. But the aspects of the show that centered around what would break down and how people would band together in some places I thought were well done.

Ironic, they call themselves the History channel. Yet are presenting fictional future scenarios.

Don't forget the alien stuff, and all the other weird non-history related nonsense that seemed to predominate the channel a few years ago (which was when I last looked at it). Maybe it's better now.

I miss Peter Weller and Engineering an Empire.
The UFO stuff is just painful.
They need to change the channels name to something else.

How about "The Bunch Of Weird Stuff And Some History Channel?"

Engineering an Empire was a great show!

I loved the scene where they were in stuck in the desert and the mom and kid decide to brush their teeth with the drinking water. Gingivitis > dehydration!

I can't remember if it was in this show, but one of the survival consultants mentions that hordes of refugees would pick entire areas clean like swarms of locusts. That would put a definite kink in the plans of the head for the hills and live off the land people when 20,000 others have the same plan.

All these prepper/armageddon type shows seem to ignore the power of fire.

Who gives a crap about how much food and firearms you have if a single person could destroy your house and property just by lobbing a couple homemade firebombs..

I liked it. Sure they weren't too bright. If nothing else it was a little motivating to get some more food stored.

The result is worst than what the show project. No power will create meltdown in our nuclear power plans.... They didnt mention the 104 nuclear reactors.. No power = overheating = nuclear bombs.
