Came up on a JD Forged Navy edition stripped lower at my LGS today. Kept the DROS open as I plan to add probably 2 more in after my paycheck clears .

They have uppers in stock?

Yeah, I was there yesterday around noon, and they had plenty of uppers. There was another guy at the same time picking up his billet receiver and he also grabbed an upper.

There was no wait, except for the 10 day DROS of course.
Riflegear has them in stock for $230
JD Machine has them listed on their site for $200 but it now appears as backordered. Plus they make to you purchase a $10 cable lock.

I ordered, in person, two Cal Gun marked forged lowers in the first week of February and was able to pick them up today. Although I don't really care, they converted my order to Cal Gun marked billet lowers without my knowledge or without any additional cost. Overall the billet lowers seem solid, can't tell as I haven't been able to put one together yet.

Noooo!! Maybe I should just go there. Looks nice!!! I hope they convert mine without additional cost! Otherwise it'll be like $40 more for two billets!

They told me 1/18 too. Also said they were offering $20 discounts on the blemished receivers, and maybe a free bullet button or charging handle, etc. if I changed my order to one of the blemished ones...

What the, I want a free charging handle!!! Yeah they don't look that bad unless you're super picky. Some might say waited this long might as well wait for perfect ones which is not going to be for a long time.

I just called JD, and yes they're working on orders from Jan. 18. Their reason: "Shortage of forgings." However, you do have the option of changing over to a billet receiver which readily available and able to DROs asap.

That is true. I'll give them another month or two to complete the Jan orders. If you're in a hurry get a blem which is not that bad or change to billet orrrr cancel your order all together because there are many good quality lowers for same price range. I'm too loyal to San Diego to cancel my order and changed to billet and a blem.

Changed my original order to a billet, which is just about to be a completed build. I also bought a blem upper from the past gun show that I'll be picking up at the end of the week.

There are a lot of good lowers out there but something about having my lower manufactured locally and stamped sd is pretty cool. I'm definitely thinking about at least a matching .308 set from JD.

Hmmmm, my order was Jan 26 and still no word. Might give them until September. The only reason I haven't canceled is because I too want it SD stamped. But I wouldn't mind going for a blem if they have them in stock. Do they knock anything off the price for a blem??

Ordered and payed for three lowers Feb. 1 2013 at their shop. Told it would be 12 - 13 weeks, Wed. 7/31/2013 I called and canceled my order. Received my refund 8/3/2013.

At least they are on top of refunds.

Made an order on April 25. Two weeks later they started making billets. Paid a little more and picked up in 10 days. At the last gun show, just walked up to the booth and picked out a blem lower for $99 (which looked perfect) and picked up in 10 days.

Sounds like people want them bad and are tired of the wait or didnt want to wait, as did I. There are options.

Im a happy camper with my two lowers along with the quality. Wont be the last I buy from them.
