Default Help with Glock magazines

Looking for someone local with experience with Glock magazines.

I bought two grip extensions earlier I want to try, but I cannot remove the damn floorplate.

I've tried on 2 magazines. No luck.

I've tried every way I can and using every punch I have. I've watched the videos, read the instructions, they just simply will not come off.

In fact, I've just about broke the "insert" on one of the mags and scratched up the 2nd.

Anyone local help me out?

you have to pinch/squeeze the bottom of the sides of the mags with your fingers as you are using the punch to pull the baseplate off . if that makes sense? but it works

Mine are extremely difficult too. Especially the G27 mags.

I bought this and it does help a lot, but certainly not easy.

If you want to drive them out to SCV, I'll do them for you. The trick is you need to shove a punch in there, press down hard, while pushing a corner of the floor plate on a hard surface to help slide it off.

Good find! I have used channel locks before, to apply "the squeeze".

Im in Ventura County and could possibly help you out. I have to check out my rental in Camarillo in the morning but should be back after 1pm. The trick is to take the Glock tool, push it all the way in the hole, pinch the sides of the magazines, then push with all your might the back end of the baseplate until it gives way. New ones are a major b!tch to get off, especially the 10rders.

I had to use a c-clamp to compress the sides of the magazine body just enough to clear the "tabs" so I can slide off the floor plate and not damage the magazine.

The problem is, I nearly destroyed the insert plate that goes between the magazine and the floor plate, that's what you're actually pushing on with the punch.

I also had to buy a larger punch that better fit the that insert plate and gave me enough leverage.

Anyway, good news is I did it successfully and without causing any damage to the magazine itself, though I had to replace the insert plate which costs about $3.

I've since used the magazines several times without fail, the extra bit of space for my finger is very comfortable, plus it looks good. I fully intend to convert more in the future once I obtain more insert plates and more Pearce Grips.
