Talking Ammo Finds - Post them here

Hi

Lets consolidate our ammo finds. When we find some ammo and want to share the source lets post in here.

Lets apply simple rules:

1. Post the Link or location and contact information
2. Don Not post that you bought it - save the thread for finds
3. If you notice it ran out, Post "It's All Gone" follow up post

If you come up with other rules, let me know or if you think the idea stinks, let me know :-)

Nice pic Jacob, but this is called taunting, not helping.

Where's it at?

Default Ammo at WalMart {Riverside CA 92507}

[QUOTE=pennys dad;10178766]Hi

Lets consolidate our ammo finds. When we find some ammo and want to share the source lets post in here.

I was at the new WalMart at 6250 Valley Springs Parkway Riverside CA 92507 951 653 4849 shortly before 10 AM today.

Female employee was just stocking the shelves. She had 9's, 40's, 38's, 223's, 308's, 270's. She asked if she could help me...I told her I was there 2 days ago looking for 22 LR. NONE then. She asked how many I wanted...

She had the Remington 225 per box for $9.97 {$10.76 out the door}..I picked up 4 and she had boxes of them...told her I would take a total of 9 boxes, she said I could have them all but told her that others needed it and I would just settle on the 9 boxes.

She had all kinds of shotguns ammo...410's, 20's, etc.

Bear in mind...this was at 10 AM this morning. 2 days ago...another female employee checked for me and said that the Colton store had the 9 boxes of 22's and a guy behind me said that he had just came from there and they HAD NO 22's...go figure. The lady said she DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THEIR SHIPMENTS ARE ARRIVING IN THEIR STORES. I was pleased that I was able to get the 9 boxes and left the other boxes for fellow shooters. 14 year grandson's new shotgun arrived today, daughter's birthday, and I was able to pick up 22's....its "ben" a good day.

I bought 2 buckets of Remington 1400 buckets of 22lr
when I left they have at least 10 more buckets at LAX Range in Inglewood

edit: this was at 1400 hours today

Remington 1400 22LR bucket $77 out the door
CCI 22lr I think was $8.99 per 100

First post, new member:

Big 5 Sporting Goods
Tully Road
San Jose, CA

Small but wide variety of ammo from .177 HMR all the way up to the large calibers and your typical shotgun shells.

Lots of Remington though - especially in .22 LR - which I imagine most here are not too excited about.

Target Masters West
Minnis Circle
Milpitas, CA

Varied amounts of .22 and up. Variety of shotgun shells. Many brands. They do have lots of CCI in .22 - however it's mostly CCI Mini-Mags. They are completely out of CCI Standard Velocity for us handgun users.

Walmart on Story Road in San Jose does not carry anything beyond BB or Pellet ammo.

Here is what I saw there lastnight:

Trcy Walmart
22lr two small boxes
00Buck - Gone
30-06 plenty
357 - Gone

Manteca Bass Pro
Tons and tons of 00 buck and birdshot
only 4 1lb bottles of reload powder
5 bags left of brass
3 boxes of primers
45-70 I bought the last three boxes.
12 gauge slugs - 10 5 pack boxes left
22lr gone

Dom's in Livermore
22LR about 4 boxes of expensive rounds left
12 gauge birdshot
00 Buck is gone
small amounts of almost everything else

J&R in Livermore
I only looked at the 00 Buck and they had only a few left

LAXAmmo is a good deal - but the shipping (~15.00) was a deal killer for me.

Subscribed. Its pretty hard to find ammo in stock anywhere around here. Is LAX the only place that has .22 in stock? $108 for 1000rds after tax and shipping is quite a bit lol. I mean I understand the circumstances, but I'm curious if you guys know of anywhere cheaper (I realize thats a lot to ask right now haha)

nope only advice I can give is. My big 5 up in the high desert gets there shipments on thursdays. And they do get bulk .22 like federal and what not. but you have to be there before they open because its gone within a couple minutes. So hit your local big 5 up on the day they get there deliveries. Otherwise just keep checking online sites. things will get better.

What he said. My local big 5's has lines thursday mornings. Up to 10 people per store, before they even open. Most of them buying 22lr or 223.

I talked to the kid behind the gun counter at Big5 in Riverside (Magnolia Center) this afternoon...

He said they get a truck on Monday morning - AND, there's been a line before the store opens for ammo - they've been selling out quick.

Default .22lr Ammo at CMP Sales

If you really need ammo here is a link to the CMP sales page for Aguila .22lr ammo. Not target grade but reliable ammo: http://www.thecmp.org/Sales/ammo.htm#Aguila22

If you cannot afford or don't want a full case get together with a friend or two and split it. I have used it and its better than most bulk ammo.

1135 FPS - $230+$25 shipping for 5000 rounds.
1200 FPS - $305+$25 shipping for 5000 rounds.

It's a source some may not be aware of regardless of the wait. Just providing information here as requested by the OP. This ammo shortage is far from over.

Default Remington N&I .22 LR "Golden Bullet"

Maybe not the right Forum, but...

Was in Walmart the other day looking at the carcass that was once their fully-stocked ammo case and noticed several bulk boxes of this Remington .22 LR 225/box ammo.

I normally buy the Federal bulk fodder but since I was low and needed some anyway, I bought all Eight of the remaining shelved boxes. The Salesperson said they had found Four cases of it misplaced in the stockroom and had just put one case out.

While I was being rung-up, I got to talking with the guy behind me about Walmart's collusion with the Current Regime's assault on the Second Amendment - no restocking of ammo for the foreseeable future - and he ended up buying the second case.

Over the span of the time it took the salesperson to dig out more ammo, I carefully deliberated and assessed my .22 LR ammo requirements for Marksmanship training for my boys over the next year or so, and as I was already at the counter, I ended up buying another whole case.

The next guy in line bought the last one.

Yikes!

Hope it's at least as good as the price was.

Anybody have any experience with it?

Thanks.

I hate the golden bullets. If you do some research a lot of others agree with it depends on your .22. I have a umarex colt m4 ops and I almost would rather not shoot it with this ammo. Last range session I went through 4-10 round clips with 5 misfires/fail to fires. just my opinion though I won't buy the stuff again. Hope it works for your rifle because .22 is getting real hard to find!

With the current conditon were in right now, you got to buy what you can get if your running low. Remington .22 ammo is my last pick if I had choices. They got the "worst" reputation when it comes to .22 ammo. Heck I bought a brick of Remington Thunderbolt about 5 years ago and it was so bad, I was ready to throw the stuff in the garbage after the second box. I didnt because thats bad mojo. You did right all things considered. Hope that ammo works out with you though.

Hate them. "New and improved" my bottom! One blew up in chamber and messed up my barrel in my AR-22 upper. Now, the barrel is at manufacturer waiting for a replacement. They may screw me and make me pay for it as they seem to be making a lot of excuses about how I was using it and they they "never recommend using Remington GB ammo." DO NOT use these in semi-auto rifles. They are much better for bolt action.

FYI, No issues in my friend's XT-22 at all. In fact, he likes them more than AE 36g CPHP. Once I get my Rem 582 restored, I will try them in that since I have 2 boxes left. Once these are gone = never buy again.
