Good to know, thanks. I just posted in the Ask Orest area, but I believe you.
I don't have a preference between Springfield and HRA anyways, so I might want to let them know they can switch me if they want.

I'm fine waiting for the next batch, as they may have more to offer in terms of stocks and WW2 rifles. However, after December, 31 no more shipping to our door. Will have to pay FFL transfer fees and register rifles. So I hope they offer some for sale before then.

Why after december 31st no to the door. CMP follows a different policy i thought granted through government hence why non- c&R holders can get them to door and they can ship ammo into LA city while no other company can.

The next batch will be here soon. Possible trying to catch up on everything

Is there any evidence either way for them being out very temporarily vs out until further notice?

I'm still not convinced. This panic hadn't started 4 months ago. Interesting times either way.
Brownells sold a year's worth of mags in a day or something crazy like that right?

California is requiring all long gun purchases to be registered in 2014. If you read the text of the bill you will see that all c and r mail order rifles to your door will be done.

I put in for a SA but with a note they could ship a HRA if the SAs were gone - also ordered another 200 rounds (had ordered 200 w/gun) and their new enbloc clips (less than a buck each).

You could email customer service once you get the DBU but I wouldn't sweat it. If they can't fill it they'll contact you and ask if you want a different model/grade instead. But it's probably just that orders got ahead of processed/graded rifles. Not as big as a deal as it sounds like. Probably!

Don't worry. If you have a DBU they will get you your rifle. Otherwise they will contact YOU about an order change or cancelation. Worry not. Their customer service is top notch.

They arent out, they just mark them as sold out so they can catch up on orders. It happened a few years ago. They have crates of rifle to be graded yet. As soon as they get caught up on orders they will have them up on the sales page again
If your order was postmarked before the announcment you will get your rifle

And in another thread he posted "All orders will be honored.. Don't worry, be happy!"

No real surprise but nice to have it confirmed.

Damn. I checked again and I mailed my order on 1/14. My email has been down for a couple of days (do not use Directnic for your hosting - it sucks) and I haven't been able to check if they've sent anything. I will be incredibly bummed if they sold out before they got to my order.

You will have to wait until they are up for sale again. Only orders that will be honored are the ones in the mail

I'm seriously thinking about a Service grade special with perfect metal and a walnut stock.

I just know those will be gone quick and they will be hard to restock since perfect condition guns are few and far between in their inventory.

Orest has said a couple of times recently that they're almost gone.

I read every post on all seven pages. Great information. I send my membership form in today to M1 collectors club by snail mail. Once I get a confirmation back I'm ordering a Garand.

Backlog update: My CMP order sent on the 16th, IIRC, by ordinary mail. E-mail yesterday says they opened it and gave me a customer number. So, figure 4 or 5 days in the mail, that would make it a little over two weeks to get the letter opened once it hits their shop. "... ship time is at least 30-60 days."

Sent mine in on Feb4 via Priority Mail fir an HRA service grade. Looking like I'll need to invest in cold weather gear by the time it shows up.

What is a DBU? I sent my order for SA in and got an email confirming receipt of my order. I saved forever to get this and now I don't want to lose it.

Mailed my order 1/15, got email 2/7 with my customer number, but not order number.
