Default CaPRC Centerfire Match at Angeles - July 22, 2012

The California Precision Rifle Club is proud to announce their next centerfire match will be Sunday July 22nd at the Angeles Ranges.

Signups start at 7:00am and shooting should start at 8:15am when the line goes hot.
Please arrive at the left side of the Angeles rifle range no later than 7:30am to sign-in and get assigned your shooter numbers.
Your shooters number is also your position on the line so please lineup accordingly.

Match fee is $20 for Caprc members or $30 for non members.
The match fee also includes use of the range after the match is completed.
We usually finish by 1pm.
Bring 70 rounds of match grade ammo.
Be prepared to shoot as close as 10yds and as far as 600yds.
Be prepared to shoot from standing, kneeling, seated, prone and other improvised postions.
Bring a backpack to shoot off of for stages that don't allow a bipod.



This match is open to bolt action and semi-auto rifles from 223 up through 308.
A velocity limit of 3100 fps will be in effect to reduce damage to club-owned steel targets.
Bipods, slings, shooting mats and rear bags are allowed and recommended.
Chamber flags are mandatory and are available from the club if needed.



Line helper RSVP's will be accepted anytime.
Member RSVP's will be accepted after 12noon Monday 7/16.
Non-member RSVP's will be accepted after 12noon Tuesday 7/17.

Here are the course of fire and scores from last Sunday's match:

Stage 2
100yd Unsupported
Round count: 8
Start position: Standing, rifle port arms.
On the beep, engage the paper IPSC target with 2 shots offhand, 2 shots kneeling, 2 shots seated and finally 2 shots from unsupported prone. Sling support only.
Scoring as per the point values on the target.
120 points possible
60 sec prep and 90 sec shoot time.

Stage 3
100yd Standard KYL.
Round count: up to 5
Start position: Standing at yellow line, rifle on ground, bolt open.
On the beep, engage the circles from largest to smallest, stopping if you do not believe you can make a sure hit. A miss causes shooter to zero the whole target.
Points are 10, 20, 30 & 40.
100 points possible.
60 seconds prep, 60 second shoot time.

Stage 4
100yd Weak side Pool balls
Round count: 9
Start position: Prone behind rifle.
On the beep, engage all the solid pool balls, weak side, with weak trigger finger. The 8 ball is optional. A hit to the 8 ball without also hitting all other solid balls causes the shooter to lose all points
10 points per ball except the 8 ball is worth 30 or zero points if all solids are not hit.
100 points possible.
60 seconds prep, 60 seconds shoot time.

Stage 5
Transitions
*** This stage was scratched due to target malfunction***


Stage 6
300yd Stressfire
Round count: 5
Start position: Standing on yellow line, 1 round in hand, 4 rounds on rear bench.
On the start signal, run to your rifle and engage the 300yd steel IPSC with 1 round. Shooter starts with 1 round in his hand and must retrieve each additional round from the bench behind the firing line. No bipods, pack support only.
20 points per hit.
100 points possible.
60 seconds prep, 60 seconds shoot time.

15 points for shots within the scoring box or 5 points for any other bad guy hit and -15 points for each hostage hit.
90 points possible
60 sec prep and 40 sec shoot time.


Stage 10
Hotbore
Round count: 1
Start position: Prone behind rifle.
On the beep, engage 100yd target with 1 round.
50 points possible.
60 seconds prep, 10 seconds shoot time.

We also had several new shooters shoot this match. Well done, rookies.
