Would 20yards be ok with a red dot and a standing position?

EdCo,

Is there a good reason why you can't shoot sitting, or at a bench?

I put the sitting rule in to mix it up a bit, and to perhaps offer shooters a chance to do something they don't often try. Earlier last year there was a standing off hand match.

I'd prefer that we stick to the criteria set above.

But... I guess you can shoot anyway you wish, just let us all know that you bent the rules if you post a target.

Happy New Year!

I know its too late and a few points short but its 101 on the low , 103 with the 2 that are " just so close " , thats why I chose 101 .

25 Yrds
Winch 52d with "Olympic " sights front & rear
on the loaner front rest from the range
Eley Tenex
sunny day slight / light breeze ( 5 max ) from the 4-5 o clock .

I was to shakey for the 10/22 with the 36x and by the time I was done shooting the Winch I was tired & half Arsed the Kimber . did not shoot some diamonds completely , some had 1 rd .

Default February Rimfire Match

Looks like Mnort10X wins January's match with a score of 99. Congratulations on the fine shooting!

February's target:
http://accurateshooter.net/targets/ukbrtarget50.png

Scopes shoot from 50 yds
irons and red dots shoot from 25 yds

If your blind and can't see the target move it closer, just say how close when you post your target.

Shoot one shot at each of the 25 numbered targets.

If needed...One shot may be used prior to shooting each row to sight in using the non-numbered target at the left.

Add your targets up.
Top score is 250

Post your targets and info for bragging rights!

Good Luck!

Finally the benchrest target - and all our ranges are covered under six feet of snow. Winter is a hard in the mountains.

There's still a chance for my airgun here at home, though with all the snow, I'll have to Simo Hayha it a bit...

I printed it on my home printer and the targets were way smaller then regulation sized BR targets. They should be. about the size of a half dollar and the paper needs about double the size to fit everything to size how its supposed to be.

Dude change the alignment of the printer. Print the target horizontally?

I should be able to get to the range in the next week or so, will post my results!

I have 1-4X optics so I am kind of screwed if the targets are no bigger than a penny and I am shooting from 50 yards!

dwh - what size do you intent the targets to be to make sure we are all on the same wave length here? Typical 8.5 X 11?

Alright, this is the biggest I can get it. Any bigger and it'll cut off other targets.

Its a .25 size now..but thats the biggest.. still pretty small. If the rule is a tare = the higher value, hitting the 7 ring will count as a 10...IF we can even hit a 7. lol

Plus, you need to set size to "shrink to fit". If it is set to 100%, only about 2/3 of it will fit. Mine came out a tad larger than a nickel and a tad smaller than a quarter.

I gave this a shot last weekend at the Lytle Creek Firing Line. I set the targets up at 50 yards and gave it a try. It was breezy and the results were terrible. I had my wife give it a try too. Hopefully we'll make another trip out there before the end of the month.

Sorry for the small target folks! I had a chance to shoot it a few weeks back, but the wind wasn't being friendly!

A touch always counts, as long as it is a real touch and breaks the line!

Any details as to deadlines, regulations, proof of feat, etc etc etc ...

Is 5 yards an okay range?! I've got a sever case of myopia ...

I'll give it a try indoors with my irons at 25 yards if I get a chance to shoot before the month is up.

Haha, I tried it but it's near impossible to get a 10 let alone a 10x. Lots of 9's thou but I too had bad wind. I average ~7 with the target so small.

Default febuary target

Here's my Feb target, Anshutz 64, ELEY Match ammo, shot from Prone with bipod and rear bag. I counted a 216 and 1 x but not for sure, it was hard to see the numbers so i might be off some.

Just got around to shooting this morning.
Shot two targets.
First one was elbow and shoulder only (like last month) not posting that one.
Next was with bipod and shoulder (that one is attached) and it was OK.
I should have brought out the rest and rear bag but couldn't get to the cabinet because it is behind a pile of boxes.

Still shooting the left-handed Anchutz 1416 with the Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20 AO EFR
with SK Jagd Rifle Match @ 50 yards.

Default March Rimfire Match

Lets see if this month gets more targets posted!
February finally had 2 excellently shot targets posted!
For a bit there, I thought the quarter, and the penny were going to win!

Shoot this target printed at 100%:

http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf/files...%20BR%20SQ.pdf

50 yds with scopes
25 yds with irons or red dots

Take 2 shots, from any position, at each of the 15 square targets for a total of 30 shots.

Scoring:
Break the outside of the black square score 1 pt
Fully inside black square score 2 pts
Break outside of the inside white square score 3 pts
Fully inside inner white square score 5 pts

Top score 150 pts

Post your targets with pertinent info:
total score, firearm used, position used, and local conditions.

Have fun!
Good Luck!
