Oooops.

Sorry about that, it was a long week fighting the cold/flu, and a great and busy weekend; Sat. at the Woman on Target at Burro and today at the Costa Mesa gun show.

I'll post shortly....

Thank you so much for all your feedback, pictures and specially for your presence and collaboration at our annual event.

It was a great success, the weather was perfect, we broke all time records in attendance at the line and overnight camping, our group activities (firing squad, BBQ for lunch, Mossin madness, BBQ for dinner, zombie movie, live band, campground fires, etc.) were awesome and attracted more people this time, the line operation was smooth and safe as never before, the preservation of our land and clean up after the shoot was nice; in essence, everybody had a great and safe time and there is nothing else to report about our annual event but good things and experience for future events.

There are so many people to thank for all the kind contributions and efforts applied towards all the cool aspects of our shoot that I don't even know how to start, evidently I will be missing a few and for that I apologize in advance.

A big thank you goes to all our fellow members, families and friends who attended the event with special mention to:

The early birds, for assisting us marking the line and RSO stations.

The crew manning the zombie movie, hauling audio/visual equipment, power generators, etc. ** Thank you Charles 007 for your donation to the Calguns community, now we have a projection canvas for future events.**

RSOs, EMTs, line and community activities coordinators; thanks to your expertize we are able to run this event smooth and safe and be ready for unexpected situations.

Members who facilitated communication devices, PA systems, range finders, lasers, chem. light sticks, etc.

Members who kindly donated safety equipment, targets, ammunition, etc. ** thank you Baka, thank you Crossed Rifles**

Calguns staff; Administrators, Moderators, C3 leaders and coordinators for the great support, planning and involvement into this event.

Members who kindly shared food, drinks, snacks, BBQ equipment, utensils, fire wood, etc.

Members and friends providing live entertainment.

Members providing photography and video; BTW, loved the drone idea, I hope we can do some aerial shots at the next event.

Once again, this event it's possible only with your collaboration, and thanks to that we are growing and getting better every time, it's amazing what we can achieve when we organize our selfs, it's beyond amazing and satisfactory to see all those happy faces and new friendships made while we safe and responsible enjoy our hobby and freedom.

It's a great honor and real pleasure to serve and be part of this community.

Always looking forward to the next one.

Respectfully.

Lonewolf.

Sorry I missed this, I had just registered as a CG'r and was sick that weekend. I play a pretty mean Blues Harp too... when's the next one -sometime in November?? A question - was there any shotguns shooting clays or are they too hard to clean up?? I have an idea to float...

I'm totally bummed that I missed this one but it was my youngest son's birthday that weekend and we had planned a fairly large party.

I'll DEFINITELY be at the November 5.5 shoot with a few new toys to play with.

Consider it done. I just finished my hexacopter. By the time the next one comes I should have a huge octocopter with a DSLR camera mounted to it.

SSZS 5.0: March 7, 8 & 9th 2014 (it was an absolute blast)

I'm hoping for a 5.5 later this year if we can!

+1 for a potential SSZS 5.5 around November like last year (for 4.5).

Got it.. I go on an annual trip similar to this with a group of about 20 guys. We take our trailers out and stay for a weekend (no women, children or dogs allowed) lol. Always a good time.

Well how sad it this.....

I started buying stuff for an event we don't know if it will take place yet....

SSZS 5.5 - Sometime later this year (hopefully)

Already got the RV picked out and a new EZ-UP

Can someone let me know what frequency the walkies used so I can buy a couple of my own?

It's never to early to start planning.

I've been in contact with several members about this event.

It looks like mid/late Fall would be a good potential target, it will be up to the gang to determine the faith of another 0.5 shoot........

Well then, let's start planning.

October is the month where summer nights die, at least here in LA it does. So any date past that will be cold nights, any date before would be not so cold nights.
We need RO's, coolers, BBQ's, potluck utensils, and 2 way radios to call the range hot or cold. Depending on how many people are coming, we either dig holes to piss and **** in, setup bucket loo's, or pitch-in for a porta potty. Umm, firewood for bonfire if the date is in or after October. A zombie target for Mosin Madness. A bulletproof RC robot to run around and shoot at in the day. If we do it on Halloween, we'll need zombie costumes for people who like airsofting. (Kinda like in Halo, us vs. the flood) Ummm...
... somebody else chime in before I think up any more crazy ideas lol

Sent from my cell phone, because I'm a Calguns addict

Ok.... what about the moon phases?, I do believe zombies are more active during certain parts of the moon cycle

Relax, we are a big family, the necessary equipment/supplies are out there.

Depending on how many people are coming, we either dig holes to piss and **** in, setup bucket loo's, or pitch-in for a porta potty.

Be no mistaken, proper accommodations will be provided.

Last time I brought a double service unit, I can always upgrade to a full VIP station.

Like I said, relax, we are a big family and a lot of members like this event. I'm always open for suggestions and participation.

No you are not crazy, this event happens thanks to all of you fellow energetic/interested members.

Sent from my cell phone, because I'm a Calguns addict

So it begins......

Fellow Calgunners, this is your event, please feel free to participate as needed and when the time comes; I will open a dedicated shoot thread.

Speaking of Remote Control Targets......

Depending on approval from the head honchos, I have a Large Remote controlled Airplane I would be willing to sacrifice for the Zombie War.

. .

I know people have mentioned it before and the idea usually gets dismissed because of safety, but I could easily fly it in on low passes. Should not be any higher then most of the targets.

Maybe figure out a raffle sort of thing, where people buy a ticket for a couple bucks for the chance to shoot it. And sort of like Pinata, we go until someone destroys it in one pass.

And all money raised would be donated to the Shoot fund, or to CGF, or NRA or PETA.... what ever people agree on.

Well, just for informations sake it looks like Thursday November 6th is a full moon. And there are no local so cal gun shows... Last year early November the weather was near perfect for SSZS 4.5. Just throwing it out there. Not sure what other events people are partaking in might be occurring then.
