Yeah, I mean why would you leave if you were not doing anything wrong??? Public land...shooting legally in a safe manner...I guess some folks are just really paranoid.

A big THANK YOU to Lonewolf, Retired, SeanCasey, Yugo, AndrewMendez and all other CL volunteers who made this event possible. It was a pleasure meeting everyone and I look forward to more Calguns excursions in the near future.

Now it's time to make a list of new guns I have to buy. I blame: PendulousMind, Unkl Bang, Intoforever, Tinman, DrunknMaster and Allstarauto. I hope to have two full tables of toys for next years zombie hunt.

I was amused that people left due to the fly-over. Even without that, the LEO's knew of the event (some were among us) and where.

He's really cool!

Reposting the couple of photos that sometimes work.

Firing line. I counted 65 tents/positions.

Guys, a little insight with the helicopter.

I personally know someone very connected with them. They were coming back from a rescue, that just so happened to be in the area when they did they fly over. On top of that, they are required to fly so many hours per day, and they were well under for the day.

The tax dollars would have been spent regardless if they were flying over the SSZS or not.

I would like to point out that they are COMPLETELY supportive of what we are doing, and they are very much pro gun in your hands.

I'll be working on the fireball photos over the next few days and post them as I get time. Some were amazing to see frozen in time with one firearm making faces in flame.
Zoom in on this picture straight out from the middle red tent, youll 2 zombie killers walking back to the line, with a zombie's head in my hand!!!

thanks a lot man. This was my first Calguns event and am so glad I made it (it almost didn't happen for my lazy but), but I knew once I got there I wouldn't be the only gun nut, man some of you guys make me look novice! lmao! Next year... I can't wait!

he sent me a PM I got back to him I guess he had a five ton there too, but left Saturday. That would of been sick!

The thing I really think we need to push for future events is making sure we are Eazy Up to Eazy Up. There were several spots where multiple tents were a good 6 - 8 feet from each other. If we squeezed just a little closer together, we would still have room for shooting AND people wouldn't need to have been sooo far down the line. Also, to my right (left side on IntoForever's picture, there was room near the firing line for at least 4 or 5 other groups.

In some places the terrain incline is not that favorable, such is the case of the area you are mentioned.

For future events I'll most likely relocate the command post and BBQ station to the "new" center of the line, pretty much where Sean Casey's station was located, that place gives much better visual of the entire plateau and firing line.

We always have room for improvement.....

I agree, we had 5 ezups tied together with added weights and it seemed to work out nicely.

I agree with Andrew (gosh, I never thought I'd actually say that) and would add that might also help with the sun/shade problem. I had to move my stuff from one side to the other as the shade shifted. Last year I did what some did this time and tied mine to the one next to me. I don't know why I didn't remember to do it this time.

Thanks for everyone making this one of, if not the best, Calguns shoots ever. Thanks to Xavier for organizing this event and everyone else who helped ensure it would run smoothly. I am only sorry I missed the Sat. night and Sunday events. Next year will be different.
