It’s possible, to be honest I have no idea why the value pack availability is the way it is… but that could very well be a reason for it. I would prefer it if it was a regular item and that’s its regular price.

It’s almost like shopping for a mythical beast since everyone knows it exists but it’s never really in stock.

I would still buy with confidence if you see it… I have gone thought about 2000 rounds of value pack ammo out of the 5k rounds I purchased and no issues in any of the pistols I have.

I’m pretty sure these are factory new rounds.

Plus I have been coming across the 9mm value packs for over a year…

The .45 ACP stuff is new to me, haven’t seen seeing that stuff until the past month or two.

That's what i'm wondering. From page 7:

I also noticed on the Federal site it says the Champion muzzle velocity is 830 whereas the AE stuff is 890....on my $29.97 100rd box it says 890 as the MZ so I think it's definitely a reasonable possibility these are repackaged AE rounds.

I called my local WM last night and the guy told me they had the cheap 9mm Federal stuff in stock, so I hopped on the bike and hauled *** into town. When I got there all they had were the 50 round boxes for $12.97 so I guess he misunderstood what I was looking for. I ended up buying a box of the WWB 147g hollow points to try them out. They were $22 after tax for 50 of 'em so it's worth a shot just to see how they do.

Any of you tri-valley shooters may want to check out J&R in Livermore. They have 1000 round .45 for $399, 9mm at $279 and .40 for $359. Not sure what brand though. But might be worthwhile if it's better than the Federal ( not dirty?). Might be on par with Winchester? Don't know. I'll be over that way tomorrow and I might check it out.

I've been shooting and reloading .45 ACP for decades. I've never seen any with small primers.

Milpitas has lots of the Fed 100 ct value packs in .45acp. No 9mm or .40. Something new I havent seen before is the Fed Classic Hi Shok 9mm 115gr for $15.97.

Bought 10 packs of the 100 .45s this week at Milpitas and they had plenty more. Large primers. The 50 count boxes of Federal I had bought before were small primers. Save the small primers for matches or other places you can't pick up brass.

Man they never have any 100 9mm packs. I remember when the 50 packs were 10.97 and were flying off the shelves. Now they sit there for weeks on end to desperate shoppers.

I was just told that WM layaway starts on the 16th and gun accessories/airsoft/Bb guns qualify for layaway! Pretty cool but ammo cannot be put on layaway for the holidays. Lol.

So I've been calling WM daily for the last 2 weeks and today I called in the early PM and they told me they had a case of Fed 9mm 100rd come in but it sold before it even made it on the shelf lol

On a side note, I just tried the Federal 100rd 45acp stuff for the first time today. Is it just me or does anyone feel that it is loaded a bit on the hotter side?

Bought the last 2 boxes of Federal 100rd .45 today at Mountain View.

I really am surprised they sell them for as cheap as they do. I haven't bought ammo from WalMart in awhile after the price of Federal 50rd 9mm went up to around $13.

And I just bought 2 boxes of the Federal 100 pack .45 from Milpitas which ended up cleaning them out.

Till next shipment!

Didnt see any .45 just now. Didnt ask though if they had any in the back. Saw the case od cci mini mags. 1600 rnds for $99 isnt bad. Didn't know it also comes in a small ammo box similar to the smallest Plano ammo box. That's a bit better.

Just came back from Milpitas WM and no Federal 100 packs in 9,40, or 45's. Just thought I'd save someone a trip if they were looking.

I would hate for you to miss out on shooting because of the Walmart stock issue. Buy the ammo that I am selling in the marketplace and live the dream!

10 cases of federal $29.97 .45 will be in today. They have 4 boxes on the shelf but was told not to worry. They will be restocked after 5pm.

29.97 x 5 = 149.85
8.38 tax = 12.57

500 rounds with tax = $162.41

I'd rather wait for Walmart stock.

Counted ~24 boxes of the federal bulk .45 for $29 on the shelf today. No 9mm federal 100 packs only 50 packs. Some WWB 9mm 100 packs, super X .22 555 packs.

West Palmdale WM has the Federal 100 packs of 9mm in stock. The guy said someone bought 10 earlier today, the shelf was full and they had about 20 more in the back.

Went into my local walmart looking to buy 9mm fed for 12 something and luckily i double checked the bulk section and found 4 boxes hiding in the very back. I picked up all four of them for 64.69 then realized that i actaully only paid for three boxes. Got lucky.

Picked up several of 9mm 100-packs! Cashier said he doesn't expected till 2013 as last shipment was 3 months ago. A guy before me picked up 40 boxes! Only about 25 boxes left and the cashier expected all to be gone by this afternoon.
