Neither. Coordinates known? Yes, then it'd be a 19 year old 130lb Coke bottle bespectacled FC3 on an Arleigh Burke assisting a slightly overweight (but she's on a diet) Ensign Strike Officer who graduated from Cornell Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Etymology that launch a Tamahawk from 1500 miles away from the cold confines of the CIC at 3AM, that land dead nuts on top of the fighting duo in their battle to the death!!!!

ETA: Son, if you really need to ask this, then I'd suggest the Air Force.

For the OP. Watch the movie Black Hawk Down. Then cry and wet yourself before falling asleep.

Really it comes down to the individual. A total bad-arse infantryman could take out a SEAL in a given situation. If the SEALs or Rangers were perfect, none of them would ever die. In other words, joining the SEALs or Rangers is good if you can hack it, but it doesn't make you more of a superman than any other combat arms job. Bottom line is, you gotta want to do the job they do. If you don't like swimming, do something else. If you like climbing cliffs, join the Rangers. Do what you like, don't go for the title.

Oh........

I thought everybody wears camo while playing call of duty? I even got the AR by my side. Boots? kinda extreme for me since I don't want my carpet to get dirty.

To see who would win we should find out what their load out is.

Everybody is getting wet over SEAL's these days because of their recent highlights with the Somali pirates and wacking Osama. I still have my doubts about the whole "dumping of the body" into the ocean B.S.
Anyways, Navy Seals are highly trained bad asses but i don't believe they are better than MARSOC.
Army Rangers are just over glorified grunts. No better than Marine Recon Bn. Notice i mentioned Recon Bn, not Force.
Navy SEAL's are becoming very commercial now, while the rest of SOCOM and MARSOC operates in the shadows away from the media.

To the actual question....They need each other. What battle was it that the Seals went in, ran right into a death Mt, Rangers went to help, they ran into the same thing...in the end Air Force bailed them out.

JK. hahaha... All I gotta say is their both great, I love them for protecting our freedom to be, free.

I know a couple peeps have already mentioned it, but I'll add a twist... A LOT of the most well-trained SEALs think Marines are bad-asses.

Considering that army rangers are about the same and equal to your standard USMC infantry I am going to give this one to the SEALS. BUDS is 6 months and that just qualifies you to start training. Of the 29 or so, I don't remember the exact number, missions of the USA Ranger the USMC infantry does all but one, airborne operations. That being said, who gives a crap? There are a ton of total bad asses in the DOD. Sure some more than others, but again, who cares. It is always the people who wear camies, buy all the issued gear, and ask a million questions who are too afraid to join. The only way to know for sure is go through both pipe lines. SEAL's being two years and Ranger's being two months.

LOL, I don't think so. All SEAL team member already has some what of a medical training and there is always that one SEAL that is a designated Hospital Corpsman (Combat Medic).

The better comparison would be Navy SEAL's Vs. Delta.

My vote would go to the Navy Seals. They are a very flexible unit. They can cover all sorts of operation from air, land (cold and hot weather training), water (on surface and under water), and two of them even went into outer space as astronauts. There main duties consist of training foreign fighters, sabotage, recon, search and rescue, and anti-terrorism just to name a few. The Navy SEAL's train with live rounds and have wasted more ammo than the whole Marine Corps combine during training. They are allotted to spend 11 billion dollars to buy whatever toys they think they need, want or try out unregulated (I am referring to buying the newest technology gadgets or weaponry).

The Green Beret, I am pretty sure they don't do to much water training. The Ranger and Green Beret has their own separate water course, but it is not part of their curriculum to become a basic Ranger or Green Beret. If I remember right, the graduating class of Ranger and Green Beret is higher than the SEALs. The amount of graduate of Ranger or Green Beret are almost comparable to the amount of SEALs that pass if they take the extra water training course. Being comfortable in water is one of the biggest thing to pass.

In my opinion and its that. I think both offer and specialize in different areas. Your seals are you more tactical get in and out without anyone knowing you were there. Also the amount of sacrifice and hardships one must go through to become an operator(Seal for those of you who dont know) makes you in a special VERY SMALL group of individuals who have overcome many seemingly impossible odds with very small amount of manpower.

Now the rangers and coming from experience working besides them are a very very proud bunch of gentlemen that receive good training and are determines However army sets a very low bar for enlistment at times. I have bleed and sweat with many marines, Navy and army of all walks of life and would out of them all Take the seals and after that The marines. Corpsman Up! Devil Doc

more common these days these guys are trained by the same guys. They even do the same missions as a single unit or group ( joint task force).

A long time ago, I thought Delta was just army rangers. I also notice that instead of saying specifically what unit name is involved in an operation the media usually just sticks with saying rangers or seals, morbid as it may seem if you look into the casualty list of recent "seal" operations they have army, airforce and marine assets with them ( and some are not even spec-ops/ some are not even soldiers at all OGA's); these guys are not there for a joyride or just support these were part of the team and mission.

what I am saying is the line is getting blurred now, the initial training differentiated who is what but later on you don't even wear your own uniform and everyone is in the same op.

I highly disagree from experience, support and being attached has nothing to do with operations. Believe me seals go in alone most of time if they need or want support your looking at SWCC if by water and most likely marines(Marsoc) Rescue is different and is based on who is closest and available but as you can read seals will always support seals before anyone else IF all Possible. Again I am speaking just from experience with what I was involved with and with my own eyes. I have friends on the Teams and also speak from them.
