Default CGF Shop42A.com fundraising program (2015 YTD: $47,802 | 2014: $188,628)

All,

Whenever you shop at Amazon, simply browse to www.Shop42A.com first and a portion of every sale you make during that session will go directly to advancing our civil rights (up to 15%). It's important to note that you need to enter www.Shop42A.com each time you shop at Amazon; when you check out (make a purchase), the association to our program goes away. Some have found it easier to save www.Shop42A.com as a browser link or desktop icon in order to save time and make remembering www.Shop42A.com easier to do.

Make sure to share www.Shop42A.com with your friends and family -- happy shopping for gun rights!

Important note about Amazon Smile: There's been ongoing confusion about the "Amazon Smile" program. While you can contribute to CGF through the Smile program, the donation we receive is significantly less than that from our www.Shop42A.com affiliate program shopping link.

Program Stats
--CGF Shop42A.com Program Stats--
2011: $2,245.45
2012: $71,831.56
2013: $158,469.85
2014: $188,628.46
2015: $ ???

I believe you have to click this link before adding an item to your shopping cart. E.g. if you add it, then a day or two later click this link and check out, it doesn't apply.

Can you clarify the rules and whether what I said is correct?

Any way to put an Amazon logo link on the Calguns page so all you have to do is click on the link and go shopping?

This will be yet another reason to continue shopping at Amazon even after the new tax hits next Sept. The biggest issue is going to be how to decide whether to purchase through NRA or CalGuns. Now both have the option.

between me and the wife we spend so much on amazon it's not even funny. This needs to be a sticky or something else big so the word gets around.

The 2 in the OP are the same (the 3rd was another dupe), one's just a bitly so easier to copy/paste (the full URL is truncated by vBulletin).

+1

My wife gets 2-3 deliveries per day during the beginning of the school year.

I use Amazon as a benchmark in online buying. Even if I can get something 5-10% cheaper at a no name site, I'll choose Amazon. This is just icing on the cake.

When you first get to the Amazon homepage, you'll see a "Calguns" reference in the address bar. Browsing beyond that you'll not see it but any orders placed that session will be properly credited.

Can you post a status at say, year end, or whenever Amazon gives you an accounting? It will be nice to know how much was raised through this effort.

Definitely will. I'll likely post at our Twitter feed (@Calgunsfdn) and blog as well as here.

Can we get an Amazon logo somewhere on the header or footer of the forum pages so it's always easily available?

I can make a clickable Amazon banner that directs to the homepage via the CGF referral if Calguns.net would agree to place it.

Yes, a click-able banner or "add" would be great. I shop Amazon all the time and would love to be able to do this through Calguns.

I buy lots of stuff from Amazon. I have replaced my old Amazon bookmark with the CGF bookmark. I hope it fills the CGF coffers to overflowing!

A nifty try is to right click the link, click "Copy Link Address", then make a bookmark directly to the link. Guarantees CGF gets the affiliate flow through.

Doesn't the NRA have a similar program?
Out of state folks won't know or care, so that might be a better link for them.

ETA: Here is the old thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=251169
But it doesn't appear that the same links exist on the NRA site, they have there own store now?
