Sammy - if it's the 18th, I should be in town. Whatever you need, lemme know! And you are right, that area turns to paste when it starts raining heavily.

Phong,

It would be the 18th.

If this were to happen, I would want people to e-mail me a conformation that they wanted to and would show up to shoot if we had a match.

Talk it up and let me know.

People can e-mail me at samhouston@x3multigun.com

No matches on Saturday, primarily because it takes almost all day to setup 6 stages for 3-gun Sunday. West End Gun Club has 3-gun on Saturday. Fun but smaller stages since setup starts early on Saturday.

We will have an X3 Multi Gun match on the 18th of December, if there is enough interest beforehand. If enough people say they will come shoot, then we can plan on it. Please post here, or e-mail Sam to let him know if you would shoot the match on 12-18-11:

Talking

O.K.

Let's try it again!

I got an over whelming response to the e-mail Jack put out, so I guess we are on.
Ive looked at the weather and it shows NO RAIN at all for the next 10 days

I will run pretty much the same stages that we tried to do last month, no one finished except for maybe Phong! So, just to be fair I will make them a little different

Just for you Phong

I need help guys.

With the holidays and things some of my set-up crew are not going to be able to make it on Saturday to help me set-up.

If you are available and want to come out I would be very grateful, and would comp you the match.
I start at 8:00am and it usually takes about 6 to 7 hours.

If you are interested e-mail me a samhouston@x3multigun.com

Thanks,

Well, I hope everyone made it through the Holidays with out eating too many goodies. It's 2012 and a brand new year of shooting X3 Multi Gun. Most of you are probably looking forward to gearing up for this years upcoming major matches. I am going to try to run some stages that will help you out with this. If you have something specific you would like to see in the matches let me know and I will gladly build it into the match, just post it below.

The stages are up on the website www.x3multigun.com and are posted here as well (see attachments).

You will need the usual compliment of Rifle, Pistol, Birdshot, Slugs and Buckshot. Bring water and a snack as there is nothing available at the range.

Please try to get there early on Sunday to sign up and to make sure you get to shoot with the squad you want.

I'm light handed again for set-up on Saturday, so if any of you guys would like to help out and get first hand experience of what it is like to set one of these up I will take care of your match fees.
If this is you, e-mail me at the address listed below.

samhouston@x3multigun.com

Thanks for your help and support.

so i told myself i would shoot club comps for a year before i donned a jersey and tried some bigger comps. it's been about a year and i'm gonna shoot mystery mountain and nationals this year, so its come time to buy a club jersey. two questions:

should i get the same size as i wear in a t-shirt?

whats this about a matching beanie?

On the Gemini site, use their sizing chart. Those suckers leave little room to be wrong so you want to order it right the first time.
And welcome to the big leagues!

I looked at the stages today and they are excellent! It's a new year and I know some of you want to start 3-gunning this year. It's time to hit the ground running (i.e. you'll see why I say this after seeing Stage 5)!

Hello everyone,

I just finished the stages for this weekend, let me know what you think? They are posted below and on our website.

www.x3multigun.com

The weather looks nice for this weekend and I am expecting a good turn out, especialy with all of the major matches coming up. The match is a little bit more involved this month so please try to get there early so we can get squadded up and get started. You will need the usual complement of Rifle, Pistol, Birdshot, Buckshot, and Slugs.

Please bring a snack and plenty of fluids. It is a dry range and you will do better if you hydrate and eat something during the day. For all you new shooters, please leave your steel core ammunition at home! If you are not sure put a magnet to it, if you don't have a magnet ask someone.

I am short handed again in my set-up on Saturday, so if you want to come out and help me set up, I will gladly comp you the match on Sunday.

You can e-mail me if you are interested at samhouston@x3multigun.com

See you Sunday.

Scores are up!!! www.x3multigun.com

Thanks to Dennis Chang and Phong for all their hard work and the formatting you can now view them in multiple ways.

I want to thank everyone that came out. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it.

I hope you guys do well in Bakersfield next weekend. (I should have my rifle fixed by then, I ate 9 on one stage )

There seemed to be an over abundance of misses in this match. Was the match to difficult?

Until next time......

Man, that was a challenging match!

It looks like folks had a lot of misses on the S1 slug targets, including that mover at 40y, and the small clays surrounded by no-shoots on S4. Almost everyone on our squad had a penalty on that stage.

Like others have said though, if you can do well at Pala and Piru, you can do well anywhere. It's true!

And many thanks for everything that you do, including getting these scores out so quickly!

i need to practice my shotgun reloading. the match made me realize thats my weakest skill at the moment.

speaking of shotgun. is it common in big matches for there to be a barrel on its side in front of double clay poppers like on stage 3 i think it was? making the double head shot and then shooting both clays out of the air at the same time got me.

Yes, they had several at Superstition Mountain last year like that. When in doubt, go conservative on those clay birds. You didn't have to shoot them both at the same time. You could have shot 1 popper, a steel and then came back for the bird. Then repeat and rinse for the other one. You can't miss those, they are 10 seconds each!

yeah im trying to push myself to the point of failure everytime to get better. cant get better if i just shoot every match conservative.

i've been practicing and im pretty much flawless now taking 2 poppers with 2 clays if the poppers are not obscured. but on sunday with the barrel in the way i hit the first popper, then it took 2 shots to drop the second popper, which threw me off and i missed the clay from the first popper. i got the clay from the second popper, but still ate the 10 second penalty from the first clay.

when i was practicing it didnt occur to me to put a barrel in front of the poppers, but next time i go im definately gonna spend some time on that.

Well?

Is the March match gonna happen? Are we waiting another day or two to see what the weather is looking like?

I'm not scared of the rain. The last mud match was fun.

I heard the match is off since both days will rain out. Isn't it ironic that we are the 2 posters in this thread?

Jeff said he won't be there and neither will I and a few other guys due to travel. But, given how many people showed up last week, I wouldn't be surprised that they still had a match!

Watching the weather guys, it dosen't look good.
Stay tuned and check the website before you come out.
If it's muddy the match will be canceled. If you have been there in the mud you understand. If you haven,t then you don't.

Is there going to be a match in April? If so are you using the stage diagrams from the cancelled march match?

April 15th, good day or bad day I don't know anymore.

We are going to try to have a match this month, April 15th. Hopefully the rain will miss us. Check the website:

www.x3multigun.com

and here before you head out to the range. Right now it looks good for a match.

You will need the usual compliment of Bird, Buck and Slug. as well as Pistol and Rifle. The stages are posted on the website and at the bottem of this post.

I hope to see you all at the range.

.
