Default BRRC NRA High Power, XTC Matches, 2014 Program

2014
Burbank Rifle and Revolver Club, Los Angeles, CA
NRA Approved High Power Rifle Tournament
(200, 300, and 600 Yards)

Sponsor: Burbank Rifle and Revolver Club. See Contact Information below.

The tournaments at BRRC are held to promote participation in NRA High Power Rifle competition, to promote good sportsmanship and rifle marksmanship, and to establish NRA High Power Rifle classifications in “Across the Course” competition at full yardages (200/300/600 yards). NRA membership is encouraged but not required.

2014 Tournament dates (2nd Saturday of the Month): January 11, February 8, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, September 13, October 11, November 8. No Match in August and December.

Course of Fire: The 80 Shot Regional Course, at a maximum range of 600 yards, and 2 sighters at each stage: 20 shots Standing at 200 yards, slow fire (SR target); 2 strings of 10 shots Sitting at 200 yards, rapid fire, 60 seconds (SR target); 2 strings of 10 shots Prone at 300 yards, rapid fire, 70 seconds (SR-3 target); and 20 shots Prone at 600 yards, slow fire (MR-1 target). At the Match Director’s discretion, the format may be changed to the National Match Course (50 shots), or other variations of the stages listed above, and reduced targets may be used, if conditions dictate.

Rules: Current NRA High Power Rules will apply. Empty chamber indicators are required. Rifle categories include Service Rifle (Rule 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.1.5), NRA Match Rifle (Rule 3.3 and 3.3.1), and NRA Any Sight Match Rifle (Rule 3.3.4), Eye and ear protection is required.

Each competitor will receive a copy of the range safety rules and will sign a waiver of liability before being allowed to compete. Any disregard for safety may, at the discretion of the match officials, result in disqualification from the match and/or expulsion from the range.

Eligibility: Entries are open to all.

Entries: The cost is $23.00, which includes the NRA Registration Fee of $4.50. No charge to active duty military personnel. NRA points are not acceptable. Preference will be given to pre-entries made by email (xtc@brrc.org, see Contact Information below). Day of match: Entry confirmation and squadding from 7:00 to 7:45 am. Walk-On entries, or late arrivals (after 7:45) may be accepted at the Match Director’s discretion.

Entry Limits: Entries are limited to 21 shooters, preference given to pre-entries by email, up to the day before the match.

Entries by Mail: No Entries accepted by mail. See Contact Information below.

Firing starts: No later than 8:30 am, earlier if possible. Competitors must be on the firing line or in position as scorekeepers and target pullers at that time.

Targets & Scoring: Competitors will pull targets in the pits and act as scorekeepers on the firing line. Challenge fee is $2.00, which will be refunded on winning the challenge. It is likely that pit duty will not be exactly evenly divided amongst competitors but every attempt will be made to balance this duty consistent with minimizing the duration of the match. Competitors withdrawing early must secure a replacement for target pulling and scoring duties.

Awards: Cash Awards will be given as follows, Match Winner, Class Winners (2-3 competitors needed to form a class), and either High Match Rifle or High Service Rifle. Classes and Categories may be combined to maximize awards.

Classification of Competitors: NRA high power rifle classifications will be used. If unclassified or unable to show classification, you may be placed in Master Unclassified.

Match cancellation: RAIN CANCELLS! This includes rain prior to the day of the match which may make the dirt road downrange impassable. IF THE ROAD DOWNRANGE IS WET, DO NOT DRIVE ON THE ROAD! If there has been rain in the Castaic area (including the Los Angeles basin) during the week preceding the match, use the Contact Information below to verify that the match will be held, and to receive email announcements regarding range conditions.

General information: Competitors and spectators must provide their own drinking water, food and shade. No potable water, food or electricity is available. There is no telephone service, and cell phone coverage is almost non-existent. Portable lavatory facilities are available at the firing line. Overnight camping by non-members is available on a limited basis by prior arrangement only. Accommodations are available in nearby Castaic. No trash pickup, take out what you bring in.
