Default Mini Green Reflex sight

So I found this company that makes a mount that replaces the rear sigh on your gun so that you can mount a Mini Reflex sight without having to send the slide out to get cut. I've been thinking about getting one for a while and finally got it and the their reflex sight yesterday.

Not sure how much I like this set up. As of right now I can tell that the sight is way off. I'm not sure when I can get to the range but whether I can get this sight to zero will determine if I keep it.

I would think you could “zero” it....just maybe not at close, personal encounter distances.

I used a bore sight tool when I installed one on my buckmark. Handy if you have one.

Not worried about that as I have a couple of other guns for that purpose.

Any chance of getting a picture of the mount?
I need all the help that I can get when it comes to shooting a handgun. I'm courious to hear how well these mini red dots hold up to all that slide movement.

Just to add, these red dots have a lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the heads up.

Here's the one I got. They have different one for different guns.

Thanks for the link.
Which model Red Dot are you using? I checked out their selection, I didn't see one that has the Left/Right adjustment dial like your has.

Yeah, their website is kind of weird. When you click on some items it takes you to a sister site. I got mine from Amazon. The listing says RD3-006x. I got an RD3-006B. I'm guessing that they started with the "A" and now they're onto the "B". Next month it could be the "C", who knows.

Thanks for the info. It looks like they have been upgrading their stuff for a few years so that's good. I should get the glock mount tomorrow.

Have you decided on what sight you're going with?

Very interesting setup.

Looks like you have an Apex trigger mod too?

How do you like it?

I like it. I never shot the gun with the OG trigger but I had an M&P and it too had the hinged trigger and I hated it. I had heard enough stories about how bad the SW/SD triggers were that I ordered the Apex while it was in jail.

Once I sprung her from jail I did the swap and took her to the range. Here's the thread I started with some pictures of the target from my first trip to the range with her.

I have the same set up on one of my handguns. What you need is get the laser caliber of your gun in insert it. That way you can line up the green dot to the red laser.

I have one. I tried looking for it in the garage and I can't find it. I'm going to try again tonight when I get home.

BTW, how do you like it?

WELL HEC! I could swear I saw something about a lifetime warranty....my paperwork says 1 year.

Seems like a pretty nice, well built unit. I'll be more than happy if it makes it one year.

The SD9VE seems like a seriously underrated handgun. Maybe too much bad press lingering from the Sigma days?

But in my opinion, your S&W is as good as a Glock, and priced more appropriately.

I put about 100 rounds through the G26 with this red dot. I made one adjustment and it worked as good as any red dot that I have ever used.

Thanks for the heads up on this, OP

You're welcome. I'm still trying to get to the range. I'm thinking about going next week Wednesday.

I'd like to join you but things are crazy this week with the flood and all. Will you be shooting at the Rancho Magnum range?

Please share your range report.

Yeah, I'm going there after work. Taking my guns to work with me so I should be there by 5:15.

I'll post up a review of the sight later.

I can say is that it's way better than my old set up that I used to have. Besides this mini green dot is pretty good like the the brand sight mark

Well it looks like you're going to have wait a little longer. I thought I had turned it off before putting it in the safe. Well apparently not. The battery was so low that you couldn't see the dot without being 3" from it. I'm going to pick up a couple of batteries at work tomorrow and try to get to the range on Saturday.

Would like to know what type batteries, do you have to dismount the sight to exchange batteries AND when reinstalled does it retain zero?

Been looking at this setup for my Beretta M92FS and a couple other pistols.

It's a CR2032 battery. I do have to remove the optic from the mount to install the battery. I will check zero after I get it back together.

Thanks Morrcarr good to know aa readily findable battery!

Will be interesting to see how things go after changing the battery and remounting the unit.

Got to shoot some 9mm pistol (I don't remember make or model, was my son-in-laws friend that also brought a 9 mm full auto to the range here in ABQ) 2 years ago with a setup similar to this and was able to put rounds through a steel swing window target at 10 -12 yds fairly consistently!
I think the "window" wasn't more than 3-4 square! Anyway I couldn't replicate with the standard sights even the white dots due to the Ocular Myasthenia issues. Sooooo here we are looking at options that aren't too expensive due the "fixed income" issue.
Anyway to contact the company directly????
There are some models that use an odd type battery but can be changed without the dis mount issue, but you gotta stock up on them as I've never seen them for sale locally.
It would be nice to just have mounting plates on various handguns and a couple sights to change from one pistol to the other (yeah probably would have to rezero,)but it would be parked on that pistol awhile and I have the chamber laser bore sighters that I've had pretty good luck with.

Looking fwd to your report and further info!!!!!

Would like to put this type of setup on these:

Taurus TX22 (just got it and like it), nice pistol, even for a Taurus
(Yeah I have couple other Taurus's or should that be Taurusi, I like)
Ruger MK IV Target (have had it a few months)
Beretta 92FS (They have plate for that one.)
SAR K 2 45 acp
SAR K 2 9mm

Well, I tried to get the batteries here at work and we're out of them. I ordered some off Amazon and they will be here tomorrow. I'm still hoping to get to the range this weekend to give this a try.

SAR K 2 9mm
