I carry both. If I am going to AZ or NV I don't want to rummage around and find the permit. The thin plastic card doesn't take up much room in the wallet.

That's interesting verbage. The term "course" can be taken different ways.

Does your IA run it's own class?

Did your IA specifically say that you could not carry while at work?

Did you ask your IA specifically what they mean with that verbage?

Vermont does not issue to VT residents.

It is not possible for a VT resident to legally carry in Colorado, South Carolina, and 5 other states because those states do not honor non-resident permits, and those states do not issue non-resident permits.

Alaska has been Constitutional Carry longer than AZ and they issue permits.
Constitutional Carry states (other than VT) issue for reasons of reciprosity, because of the federal 1000ft GFSZ, and other reasons.
In AZ, a person with a permit may legally carry in an establishment that serves alcohol. A person without a permit may not.

That still doesn't make you correct.

And you are in fact not correct.

When you're blatantly incorrect you shouldn't be trying to insult another person's intellect, especially if they are correct.

- The class was a private company. Wife and I were the only ones getting a permit by the City, not the County.
- Our IA officer (a friend of ours) said "not at work".
- To me that meant 'not while working'. I didn't press the issue further as I understood it's meaning.

So I utilize the CA permit while in CA. Carry while off work (off duty or sleeper berth) and regular transport laws while working (hours logged as on duty or driving).
Outside CA I defer to the AZ permit which has no restrictions and has reciprocity nearly everywhere I go.
When I come across a State that doesn't recognize either permit (CO & IL in my case) it goes back to transport mode (unloaded & locked-up).
States I regularly go through/stop in are CA, NV, UT, WY, NE, AZ, NM, TX, OK, & NE. Occasionally ID, IA, MO, and the unfriendly IL & CO.

I only carry my Calif CCW when in the state. Otherwise I would have to ditch my Costco card to fit the AZ hard
card, ha ha

The reason states, like AZ, with constitutional carry still issue permits,

is so that their permit holders may enjoy LTC reciprocity with states that accept/require a physical permit...

Often additional benefits are also granted physical permit holders.

I only carry my AZ permit when I'm in AZ. In California, I always carry it, whether I'm actually carrying or not. (it lives in my wallet)

I carry both, as Grantar mentions, one more plastic card takes up little room. With both permits (CA-AZ) I can legally carry in like 34 states.

Almost like Freedom!!

Your AZ card is honored in a lot more states than CA. Carry it always - that way you never forget it.
