I know that the direction their cylinder spins will probably get my SnW programmed self killed if I needed to reload in a gunfight but I wants one!

This is the only one they added from the Cobra line.

https://colt.com/detail-page/colt-cobra-38spl-2-6rd-sts

No Night Cobra but that's only a Dremel session away.

Dammit, right after I bought myself a wheelgun. I can't justify buying another (at the moment, at least).

Maybe Colt will release and roster a 44 mag version soon.

Don’t need no stinking justification to get a wheel gun! If you like it buy it!

I've always been a fan of blued Colts. If they add a blued one I'll get one immediately.

The “pull, not push” cylinder release will kill you first.

A new "blued" Colt will look nothing like an old blued Colt.

If they made a 4 inch model with adjustable sights, I would consider it. Otherwise, sticking with my Smith's.

I’m not feeling it, not digging the blocky nose. The original looked way better there. Also not sure how I feel about the new trigger guard yet, or the lack of a proper rear sight. It just doesn’t have any soul, and absent that I’m not sure I’ll throw down that much for a wheel gun, even if it does have a prancing pony on it.

Compare the wannabe King Cobra to the original

Colt revolvers were arguably the best looking of the Big 3 makers. That was a huge part of their appeal. And the ones above just don't cut it. If they were Charter Arms I would have been impressed. I hope Colt success in the future. I sincerely do. But I'm gonna pass on these.

The trigger guard is the off thing for me too. I generally like the chunky-ness of the top strap and I always dig fixed sights. Reminds me more of a Security-Six with a S&W barrel.

I think post-73 wood grips and changing the fiber optic front sight will make the Cobra look much better. That's my plan anyway.

Once Colt adds an adj rear to the King Cobra, necessitating a ramp on the barrel, the aesthetics will improve. Plus adj sights are useful.

Once that happens, I’m probably in for one.

Colt said at SHOT that sometime around summer, they will be releasing a 4" king cobra with an adjustable rear sight. The rep also said that they are going through the frame sizes right now starting with small and working their way up. It was hinted that next year will be the python frame size.

That new Colt .38 snub sure looks a lot like the Charter Arms snub thirty-eight.
Until Colt offers a new model in the only real revolver cartridge, .32 Long Colt, I'll pass.

I'm surprised CA DOJ allowed a DA revolver onto the roster, don't they know the danger of allowing assault revolvers into CA?

The .357 Chiappa Rhino I bought 2 months back was only available as a SA.

It looks to be a different action. There is no upside down hump above the trigger in the new one.

That could be good or bad. Anyway, As many wheeies as I have I don't have a single 357. I'm hoping the new KC is closer to SP/K frame than L frame. I'm putting it on the buy list if I like the trigger. I hope it doesn't stack like the old Colts do.

We have been selling these since they came out via single action exemption. We currently have a backlog of about 4 people as soon as I get them in the first person on the list gets called and we go down the list. If you would like to be added to the list let me know and I'll totally do that often times people find one before I can get one so you may get it sooner than you expect

DROSed mine yesterday on the way home from work. I get what everyone's gripes are about it, but I own the 4" blue KC from the late 80's and the Whitetailer II (essentially a King Cobra with 8 inch vented rib barrel) and I am excited as hell about these new guns hitting the stupid roster!
