Default Angeles Range seems empty!

I shoot at Angeles range 2-4 times per month, usually on Thursdays and Saturdays. Over the last several months it seems as if there are fewer and fewer shooters. I have not doubt the ammo shortage and cost has taken its toll, but it concerns me for the future. Not only do places like Angeles have to make enough money to stay open, but if shooting continues to become more difficult and expensive future shooters will become more rare and so will the public support for the 2nd Amendment. JMTC.

I'd have to agree that ammo prices are keeping shooters away but do enjoy showing up at 10am Saturday morning and being able to choose from a multiple open spots on the rifle range. That never happened pre panic.

And hopefully "Sunshine" on the rifle range has pulled the stick out of his a__ as a result. Lack of ammo doesn't keep me away.

Whats a good time to get a rifle range spot on the weekends? Always seems packed by the time I get there ~10/11.

Was there on Monday from 1100 to 1400 maybe about 8 to 10 people on the rifle range. They did have ammo in stock though at $$$ prices.

Expensive ammo and hard to get. People are afraid after they shot the ammo that they can not replace. This frenzy is hurting ranges and gun stores. Gun stores are unable to re-stock their inventories. No guns mean no sale, no sale mean no money...

I went to Angeles 4 weeks ago, left side was full and was at 80% on the right side. Its amazing how many people can't follow simple instructions. Everyone wants to touch there guns on the way back from changing there targets out.

Went there on Tuesday from 12-3. Both sides were pretty empty. Me and a friend both had 2 shooting benches to ourselves and there were still plenty of room

I've noticed we've had quite a few people lately who choose to ignore simple instructions. This is my pet peeve and one of many reasons I am trying to stay away from public ranges because I don't want retards handling guns around me. This is not just Angeles. A few other outdoor and indoor ranges have the same problem.

Was there today, not crowded at all in the a.m. but filled up pretty good later on. Most people ive seen on a weekday in a while. (I only do weekdays) The last months have been sparser for sure, kinda nice when there's only 5-6 on the rifle line but not good for business

Reloading store still tapped out on the popular stuff. I try to buy a few knickknacks when i'm there

What's wrong with a 16" scoped AR with forward grip and pop-out bipod shooting 50 yard targets??? Maybe they're just sighting in.

Skinny jeans? NO.

That's whats awesome about Field Time, it's close and I don't have to drive 45 min. I live in Orange County and can only make it out to Angeles on the weekends. It's always a zoo when I go.

I use to go angeles range all tuesday ,saturdays then i started going to oak tree .after some ski shooting you could enjoy a brew eat some decent barbecue, the oak tree is more pesant and less attitude than angeles range, but their is less people than before ,in both places , its time to reload ammo

Not when they're shooting off-hand behind the bench with the bipod still extended..

OK first of all, that was me.

Second of all, that "scope" you mentioned just so happens to be an NcStar tactical Scope/Green Laser/ Tac-Light Combo. The "skinny jeans" you mentioned just so happened to be from the new 5.11 urban tactical 'D-BAG' line.

I am used to dealing with haters at the range who are jealous of my kit or my skillz at hitting a 24" Gong offhand at 50 yards and beyond with my tactical set-up.

I've seen a guy shooting his shotgun with a bipod. He thought he was cool when half the people were like Wft?

I EFF'ing hate that range. The ONE time I went there, there were a gazzilion people there and during EVERY ceasefire (and I mean EVERY) there was some douchebag going to the bench, finger fv*king his gun and the range safety guys yelling at him and he just looks around and is like "Whu, Huh, ME?!?!" and it happened EVERY time.
Not to be a judging prick, but I thought a fleet of short busses showed up that day.

The fact that ammo is scarce or cost prohibitive equals less and less shooters at ranges.
22LR - $90 a box of 500.
223 - $27 a box of 20.
This becomes a problem.

Not everyone can afford to be tacticool these days. I laugh because I can reload my 50 Cal for less then some factory 223 ammo. these days it can take weeks to get enough ammo together to make a range trip worthwhile.

To save money I've been shooting blanks and assume that I'm doing well. Works great for the ego.

I think I'm gunna give Angeles range a shot. Got a few pieces of my own so I don't need to rent anything out.. for a few months at least. hehe.. Oak Tree is just too expensive, even if you have a membership. Can anyone tell me how Angeles is for pistols?

They have some steel targets out to 30 to 40 yards at the pistol/.22lr bay. You can also set up paper targets at the 100yard rifle range which is next to it. I dont own any handguns but I go to angeles for rifle/ clay pigeon shooting. Bring your own ammo though their ammo is expensive to make up for the $10 range fee.

I was there this past weekend and it was pretty crowded compared to the past few weekends prior. It's probably the best option to shoot a variety of things, pistol, rifle, long rifle, paper, steel without going out to BLM land

Sounds like EVERY TIME I've been to that range. I don't get how people don't understand 'Don't stop at the bench during the cease fire" "Walk past the bench during the cease fire"

I just don't set up a paper target down range due to that fact. Too risky. I would rather go to Mike Raauhags to zero my scope. 100 yrds, no wind since it's more of a shooting pit than a shooting range.
