Default The Gun Range - Unprofessional, Slow, Sloppy and Half Assed

"Well, the girl who does our transfers isn't here and won't be for several more days so you'll just have to wait until we call you. Yes, your pistol is here and has been since yesterday but you can't have it because we haven't processed it and only that one girl can process it and she won't be here until she is. We'll call you." Unprofessional and unacceptable. I won't be doing any kind of business there again.

Is this a store gun you ordered, or a gun you had shipped to them for a transfer?

So they didn't have anyone to process Dros's working?

Only a few people can log guns into & out of the ATF bound book. Their FFL is on the line with DOJ if Is are not dotted and Ts are not crossed when it comes to inbound transfers. CFLC approvals and all that.

And it is Christmas time. Two days before Xmas and you are ripping them? Likely the licensees are taking some well deserved time off. Cut them some slack.

Sounds like a certain gun shop around San Diego / Ramona area.

Went in to get a price on a Ruger SP101 357. Was told the person that does those was out. They took my email and phone number said they’d get back within two days with a price. Waited a week. No call.
Went back the guy I talked wasn’t working that day.
Left info again. Guy said he’d email the first guy I spoke with.

Been 2-1/2 weeks. Still no call. They’ve lost a sale.

They refused to accept an out of state transfer of a Beretta 92 because it was “Able to accept a magazine greater than 10 rounds”. I reminded the guy that the Beretta 92 he is selling in his store is capable of accepting a magazine greater than 10 rounds, but he doubled down on his stupid and said any gun CAPABLE of accepting a magazine greater then 10 rounds could not be imported into CA.
This was a couple years ago, and I haven’t been back since. The level of stupid, plus the attitude, was just too much for me.

I've called a store asking for 1911 barrels and when I got there I was refused a barrel and he even tried selling me his overpriced guns. He told me he wouldnt sell me a barrel because I'd blow my hand off. I left him a one star review lol

Given that this is the Sacramento board and that the OP is based in Sacramento, I would assume it is a store named "The Gun Range" in the Sacramento area, perhaps in North Highlands in particular?

thats what im guessing. ill find it funny when op realizes that the gun range is the best spot for ppts in the sacramento area.

fastest and most knowledgeable of any i have come across. the majority of their employees may not be as sharp as the top guys they have working there.

maybe he meant to say the "GUN ROOM" in Elk Grove? I heard a lot of complaints about that gun store.

Gun range or gun room?

Never had a problem at the gun range.

The gun room is another story - although I did a couple of transfers there recently without any problems.

Gun Range has always been GTG for PPT in my experience. Busy at times, but they’ve never done me wrong.

The girl who’s handled my PPT’s in the past carries on her right hip, kinda sexy....

OP, a splash of Bailey's may help.
The Gun Range has their process; getting on Michael's bad side won't help. I've had hang ups due to the seller not including a DOJ letter which is not the Gun Range's fault.

Never had any issues any time I was there. The two neighboring gun stores in Elk Grove however...

To the whining gashes here, The Gun Range will not miss you and more than likely appreciate the fact that you will not be a pain in their *** in the future. Best shop by far that's not a mom and pop, in the greater Sacramento area.

I've only bought ammo and range time there but I did have a rental experience where they handed me a USP9c instead of a USP9 I was asking for. They rectified it quickly though and I wasn't charged for it or anything. I don't know man it sounds like it was just unfortunate timing due to the holidays but maybe a sign saying "PPTs will resume on so-and-so" may have been helpful.

I'd give them another chance unless they were extremely rude about it.

the Gun Range is my goto store for PPT

the worst one is River City, they put us on a PPT list, and let us wait 30 mins until i left. there was no other customer during the time.

it is their way to refuse PPT legally.

Not to mention the place is the size of a walk in closet. Can't walk thru there without rubbing on people.

I've been to most of them in the Sacramento area:
- Calaboose II
- the Gun Range
- the Gun Room
- Kilroy's
- Laguna Guns
- MTG Firearms
- River City Firearms
- Sacramento Gun Club
- Shootin' Shack (RIP)
- Wild Bill's

The Gun Range is my go-to. Not the fastest PPT (that honor belongs to UG Imports in Fremont), but decent selection, good service, fair prices, etc.

Hopefully this poster isn't confusing his "The Gun Range" with "The Gun Range" in San Diego. The Gun Range in San Diego is the ONLY public range I go to. It offers the best service out there. The OP is based out of Sacramento so hopefully no one on here gets confused with a separate, non affiliated location in San Diego.

IF it is "The Gun Range' in San Diego. I have zero experience to support the OP's claim and haven't heard anything that would.
