I'm not sure what this is in reference to, but see Post #8 in the boating forum thread linked above.

Drop off the forum for a few days, then come on back. Some here are idiot jokester's, they can't help themselves...just don't worry DB

CG is a great place, even though some here are ...well ...crapheads...but OT is that way around here.

DB goes by a few names.

On Yelp he's knows as "John B."

Based on his yelp profile, which includes details of his pistol confiscation by the police which he made a thread here on 8-4-16 is mentioned.
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ighlight=motel

If you look at post 248 of that thread there is linked his Yelp account.

Also based on his Yelp postings it appears he was arrested in Boise Id. at the Walmart for theft... in June of 2017.

From that Yelp post..

"If they even happen to know beforehand you are putting things in reusable bags in the back of the store they are not going to politely remind you to pay for the pre-bagged things at the cash registers as they do in California. No, in Idaho they will wait until you get past the check-stands then pounce on you just as you are about to wheel your cart out the front door like a black leopard jumping on a passing bicycle rider from a tree in an African jungle. Then they will hold you in their office until the police arrive. You will be cited for petty theft and face jail and fines. "

Oh the twisted web we weave....

In Idaho?
He wasn't arrested for theft.
He was arrested for having California shopping bags in a free state.

Maybe. For a natural person. 'Donald Babbett' is not a natural person, ergo no such law applies.

Thats why Yelp is worthless.

Every single rating he has left has been a one star, with a single three star exception.

Wow.

He has issues. But IMO, only HIS reviews are worthless - not everyone's reviews. Just as with Amazon, anyone can post a review, but consumers have to evaluate several reviews to get useful info & also realize some will be fake.

Not long ago, I read a magazine segment called Core Score out of Surfer Magazine. A truly core person can approach any conversation online with kindness.

You should offer to take Donnie out to shoot someplace remote. Spend the night, sing Kumbaya around the campfire. If you wake up alive in the morning, be sure to report back as to what cool guns the Babbling One owns.

That’s the problem. We know HIM and can discount him. He is not the only wack job on Yelp. There are hundreds of one star reviews over petty crap. My buddy has a pizza place and he gets one star reviews that start “the food was great, but...” and then something petty like the waitress didn’t offer their angel dessert. What? Many parents don’t give their kids dessert, so to have a waitress offer it would undermine, plus nothing is stopping them from just ordering it. And a one star for that?

The problem with sitting a megaphone on the sidewalk on top of a soapbox for anyone to use is, most people have nothing to say that is worth listening to. But they can’t self evaluate, so they can’t resist prattling on. Plus there are the mental defects who just want to see the world burn.

Yelp is worthless for reviews.

If you required the DBs to stand up in the restaurant/establishment and openly declare their annoyance, there would be no ratings at all. (OK, initially, a couple folks might get their teeth knocked out, but that would calm down...)

I would support that....

Rarely do I disagree CG, but my Yelp reviews are 100% honest and reliable, in my opinion.
Surely if you read any of Donald's reviews you'd be smart enough to peg them for exactly what they are, the rantings of a mentally unstable individual, nothing more.
All the more reason Paul needs to purge Babbett from the honored and sacred rolls of Calguns.

Ya, same with Amazon, or Midway reviews.
You can generally tell by the wording of the review whether you are seeing something from a reasonable and intelligent person, or a blabbering buffoon who should be ignored.

Im not saying YOUR or anyones specific reviews are worthless, i am saying the needle in a haystack nature of it is the problem. There are so many bitter one star douches and fake five star reviews, there isnt a way to sort out the chaff.

The probles with passing oht bullhorns is everyone wants to make noise, but not everyone has something worth hearing.

Im not willing to check out somenes entire yelp history to check their propensity for giving insane reviews, im hungry and trying to find some eats.
