Default Should I renew CCW while on Misdemeanor Probation

I have a current CCW from the county of San Bernardino. It expires in a year. I need to submit my renewal, but I plead guilty to a wet and reckles. On the court documents I am on misdemeanor probation until mid 2019. Should I not attempt to renew and just wait until the probation is over, or since it is a renewal I should just submit and hope for the best.

My main concern is that if I am denied, when I reapply in 2019 I will have to check the box stating that I was denied before.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. I prefer actual facts or experiences, not guesses or theories. Thanks in advnaced!

WOW, your CCW was not revoked when you reported this to your IA when it happened?

You should change your name to "NotConcealedForNow78". That sucks though. I would wait till your off probation to try again.

2 post> Obviously joined up to asked this questions. Yes report it, yes expect to be revoked, yes you can apply again in the future and hope for the best. In the meantime I hope you are not walking around with your EDC while on probation even if informal.

Depending on how much time has passed between the incident and today I would think the issuing agency might be more then a little pissed that you never informed them.

2 posts... Hmmm, if not troll needs a different test . The IA would have revoked immediately under normal circumstances now will be for sure. Maybe you can carry pepper spray or maybe after probation and a prayer.....

My 2 cents is that it is always better to be the 1st reporting party. So walk in tell on your self and deal with the consequences. Frankly Im glad you didn't kill someone while driving. I did not walk for two years, lost my career because I could not pass fitness for duty, have had 5 surgeries and am permanently disabled because a drunk driver ran me over in 2000. All actions have reactions so learn what you can and count your lucky blessings that it worked out the way it did for you. All the best.

From the standardized DOJ app:

Quote:
Any arrest for a felony or serious misdemeanor, including driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, is cause for invalidating the license.
Look at your CCW. Does it have a requirement to report any arrest or contact with Law Enforcement?

Simple answer found on page 5: Any arrest for a felony or serious misdemeanor, including driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, is cause for invalidating the license.

Correct! Just copy and pasted it direct from the SB app.

Crickets? Crickets? I doubt there are may that have received a DUI. The few that have receive one probably wont get on this public forum and state "yes I received a DUI and I still carry lol"

OP do the right thing. Call the IA and let them know. If you aren't a TROLL.

I bet they will revoke it immediately.

You are supposed to report any OFFICIAL contact with LEO's.
Must report within 3 business days if arrested or questioned as a suspect in any crime.

Any tickets, any arrests!
My permit says ten days to report arrests, but all agencies are different. Mine is Placer. Do you know that San Bernadino says 3 days?

I don't have that in writing from the SBCSO in front of me. I have it in my notes from every class for 20+ years.
ETA I just looked at all 13 of my past permits and no where does it say it on the actual CCW card.

Here is a older thread with the same question: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...d.php?t=955654

Joined CG TODAY, and posts this? I would say definite trolling.

EDIT: However, there were some people in my CCW class at the Sheriff Academy that were pretty dense, so could be possible.

I certainly hope you weren't carrying at the time of your arrest for wet and "reckles".

If you were, doesn't even come close to describing the amount of stupid you had going on that day.

Do all the responsible permit holders in the County a favor and walk your permit into the Sheriff's Department and voluntarily surrender it.

WAIT!!! You renew in 2019??? Isn't your permit good for two (2) years??? Did you just get your permit in the last four months???

I think you'll be persona non grata in the CCW world for quite some time!!!
