New Ventura County Resident
Hey all,
I'm a new resident to Ventura County, and I'm starting the process of obtaining my ccw permit. I have an appointment to submit my application in early June, allowing me to get all my residency documents in order. Any advice for me on the process? Thanks! -J |

The sheriff already knows everything about you, so don't try to hide anything. Give complete answers in the interview. Don't get annoyed with any of the questions. Do what Mar10 said, and add humble to that list. It may seem like a long process, but VCSO is doing what they can at their best pace. I know they brought in several extra personnel just for CCW processing.

Thanks for the sound advice, everyone. To answer your question, I'm looking to put a couple of weapons on my permit. One of which is a full size .45, and the other of which is a Glock 19 (9mm). Both are striker fired.
Why do you ask? |

IOW, go in like a whipped puppy dog?!
Do you also treat a DMV visit this way, heart on sleeve, hat in hand, tail tucked squarely? Give me a break! It's a license to carry a firearm being administered by a .gov agency not an interview for your dream job working for your future father-in-law.

I carry a DA/SA full size, just curious what others like to carry, for when I start shopping around for another weapon.

No, I even took some twice...just to be safe.
There's always this weird bootlicker vibe going on with ccw'ers, I guess was my point. It's hard to quantify, so I just mock y'all with silly analogies. |

I hear ya, and I know what you mean. I think it because we are just so damn surprised that we are able to get one in this state that we don't want to lose it. Its kind of a groupthink mentality I believe, no one wants to be the one that gets us all screwed.
