Default Got tired if 50-75 dollars target stands for practice

Built my own, break down, hold steel targets, or cardboard. About 5 dollars each.

Very nice. I did something similar. I like your design even better.

The reason for the notches, was too keep them together without being permanent so I could break down for storage. Then bought too if Velcro and stapled to bottom board for your down. Not pretty but did the job.

One other thing I did. First one was too tight for the center board holding steel Target to get in. So I bought large washers and put one on each side of the little 2x4 blocks screwed in. This made enough space to slide the standing center 2x4 in.

Nice OP. I made some as well but mine don't break down. Like yours. Gonna change to your design.

Can you post a photo of your PVC stands?

I made some with larger 2"? pvc and filled the bottom with sand and gravel for weight. Screwed pipe and fittings together. But i have 5 steel stands that use the standard 1x2s and in the center a 2x4 for steel. The stands have angle iron to protect them from an impact. They were about $35 each.

I wanted a set of target stands,so I got a friend to teach me how to weld.
I made a simple target stand that worked out very well and I made a bunch for the gun club I belong to.
I made 2 sizes, 18" and a 18-24" combo.

The problem is that the "H" shaped stand takes up a lot of space in the small SUV that I drive.

So the target stands I make now have to fold up and fit in a Honda CRV.
Here's my stand for 18" IPSC targets.

Here's a few more.
The one on the left takes 2x4 lumber that I use for rifle targets and folds up.
The other 2 I use for pistol steel or paper targets.

Here's a pic of the rifle target stand broken down.

I also made a static plate rack that comes apart, the longest piece is 55".

I bought one of the "plate rack in a bucket" setups from MGM last summer. It looks similar to the pictured plate rack but uses 2x4s instead. Hangers slide on the 2x4 and plates lock onto the hangers.

A friend brought one of the MGM "plate rack in a bucket" to the range, it's pretty good design but the 2x4 cross piece didn't last very long, there were a bunch of new shooters that day.
That's why I made my rack out of steel. I only shoot pistol and bird shot at it.

I've used it with a few buddies and no problems yet. We've just used it with handguns and 9mm pcc, no birdshot. Easy to replace 2x4 when needed. Haven't had to yet.. Fun koo

Is Angeles and Hodge rd the only places near SGV where we can shoot at steel? I just started getting into welding a dueling tree but have yet to settle on where to shoot it

I shoot steel out by calico ghost town, and there is a spot out by Victorville. I mostly do Hodge Rd, because I know it ok in the summer fire season. The other two not sure.
