Default "I'm not a LEO, but...."

I like to pop in with my expert opinions on LE matters.

I provide expert analysis on use of force and police shooting videos based on what I saw on the news and what my cop buddies told me.

I used to work loss prevention and as a club bouncer which is basically the same thing.

I might not be familiar with departmental policies, procedures, case law, or force options charts, but I know an unlawful use of force when I see it.

"Even though the angle of the video did not allow us to see the suspect, we still know that the use of force was too much."

Loss prevention is still the best, though.

I'm currently dating a girl whose stepdad's brother used to be a cop. That makes me just about as expert as you can get. Oh, I'm also a certified mall ninja too!

I've heard people suggest that the proper force response to a knife wielding bad guy is a combination of baton blocks and strikes that deflects the knife and causes the bad guy to drop it.

If anyone feels ninja enough to suggest that, they should try it themselves sometime.

You want to be directly behind the knife attacker. Always be directly behind! Then cuff em and stuff em. that way you can't get stabbed. Win

Don't they train cops to disarm people?! If you can't handle a simple 250 pound dusted parolee with a knife without shooting him maybe you shouldn't be a cop!! <sarcasm >

Hey man, "T.J. Hooker" would just take 'em down with the PR-24 throw through an alley.

Uh-Oh! Did I just date myself? But Oh, Oh, Oh...that Heather Locklear.

Don't forget the Steven Segal character in EVERY one of his movies, An officer that once worked for the CIA. HE can disarm six 250#, dusted parolee's with AK's without messing up his greasy hair.

I like Steven Seagal's signature move where he snaps the bad guy's arm over his shoulder.

Oh, my. This thread is killing me. I know were poking fun and being sarcastic but is someone truly making a statement that suggests people who are threatening to kill cops with knives or guns should not be met with potentially deadly force. All of that based upon the fact that they used to work loss prevention, etc.
How about this scenario, when someone is threatening the life of you or your loved ones, with a knife, gun, pipe, _______, fill in the blank, we'll send the police to help you and as the attacker lunges towards you with a deadly weapon lets see if the police can gently, without hurting the attacker, slowly disarm him if he's willing to let go of his weapon. They can ask really nicely while you are being killed in front of them for the killer to stop. I'm certain all of a sudden you want the attacker stopped don't you.

I personally think
that since Tazer's kill people
all cops nationwide should replace them

oh
with less than lethal 9mm

of course, while not replacing their normal duty .40
simply use the less lethal 9mm instead of a Tazer

and if that dont do it, they can call in the dual wielding AR dudes

Standard interview answers of bystanders by local news station of witness to "police brutality."
1) Why couldn't they just use their tasers?
2) Why did they have to use their taser on him?
