just won a bid off Gunbroker for a SIG Sauer P226 Nitron

it'll be my first SIG, never even fired one before - needless to say im excited

it'll be here in 2 days

it looks like a pretty well maintained gun, hoping for the best - anything I should know about this gun???? Did i pay too much?? Wouldn't be the first time lol

I've never bought a used gun before

Congrats Falcon!

I'm so glad you're out of state, that gun wouldn't easily be let in to our restrictive state! Great price on a great gun, good job! Sigs and 226s are pretty straight forward so there shouldn't be too much or anything to know before shooting it besides initial cleaning. Oh, they are accurate as hell so if it's not hitting target, it's you

Have fun!
-John

thank you

during the bidding i gave myself a $700 limit, with that 15 minute rule they have it's really easy to end up in a bidding war and i didn't want any part of that - there were a couple of other last minute bids that kept extending the auction clock, i think a couple of the bidders weren't committed to keep following the auction - better for me, i somewhat expected it to go higher

i know these SIG's go in the $900-$1000 range brand new - i have no idea on used in good condition

stopped in and picked up my SIG P226 today - if you told me this gun was brand new i would believe it

i must say, for a "used" firearm im very impressed - this gun shows no sign of wear and tear anywhere, and believe me i've looked throughout the gun with a magnifying glass

both magazines look brand new, no marks or striations that i can detect; the barrel looks mirror perfect too, im pretty happy right now about this purchase although the real proof of the pie will be in the eating; can't wait to get it out to the range

now, for you SIG guys, a flat piece of shaped metal came with the firearm inside the box packed in the same cutout of the magazine - can any of you guys tell me what this piece of metal is for - i quickly scanned through the owners manual that came with the gun but didn't see anything - might have missed it though

More Sagisi work. This is a ccw gun so you'll notice the stipling (not done by sagisi) is not perfect (I did it for what I needed, didn't care about perfection) and the grip is slightly sanded at the rear (the sig logo rubs skin when carrying IWB).

It's functional and used, but the cerakote work is beautiful and all Sagisi and exactly what you'd expect of his work.

Call Sig directly, they will most likely send you a new one at no cost. I need a new slide catch for my P320, I called them and I got a " No problem, we'll send you a new one" ... Hell of a customer service experience.

That's a hard choice. It's like asking "do I get the FDE or OC green?"
But the default answer as always, get both!
