Default Chrony recommendations

Im looking to get a chronograph with an upper limit budget of $200. Due to some of the guns I own, I dont want a barrel mounted chrony so that leaves me with the standard type setups. Hoping for some recommendations for ones that arent picky about being in the sun. I shoot at Sac Valley and we get quite a bit of direct sunshine which tends to mess with a lot of meters.

Im getting into reloading and I'd rather have a chrono than a guess based on shot placement.

I've used the shooting chrony type and am currently using a ProChrono which I like and have used in a variety of outdoor lighting conditions with pretty good success. It's about $100 on Amazon, I believe. It's light and has good storage and data retrieval options.

If the price is right then the magneto could possibly work for you, but I would rather have a labradar because THOSE are the best in all of the world. YEah they cost about twice your budget, but from what I have seen they RULE!

That kinda negates the "not mounting to the barrel part" else Id budget for it.

Search "chronograph" using the search feature.

I imagine there are many threads with recommendations.

Also check youtube for reviews of chronographs.

Labradar looks pretty rad. It seems to be quite delayed though. The site says early this year but it was originally supposed to come out mid last year so I'm skeptical. If you can hold out I'd see if someone wants to go halfsies on that. The setup time and at range velocities seem well worth the price if they keep it under 500
