Let me rephrase my question, will the current selection of kalinka mounts you offer work with this new scope? I would love to have a low powered scope for my AK and still be able to attach other accessories.

AK scope is still being developed and we are using the Kalinka mount in the process.

Wow. just re read this post to discover tlyou will offer this reticle in a variable power scope. Holy guacamole.

i would like to second the opinion that 4-14 power is overkill. i think a 1-6x would be ideal for 5.56.

If you ever start thinkin of 308 a 1-10 would be awesome.

Definately front focal plane would be a winner. and as light as possible while being rugged.

.308 in a 10x would be nice

I've done some thinking on this, and I think this reticle in a scope with the following specs would be a huge seller:

-2.5-10X40
-Side Parallax
-Illumination (either red or green, but preferably not BOTH in the same scope)
-First Focal Plane
-BDC elevation knob to give the option of dialing in correction for ranges determined from reticle

For illumination, the brightest setting should be daytime visible, and the lowest setting should be dim enough to barely be visible at night, hence the single color for grwater number of settings on the rheostat.

Very few manufacturers have any scopes available that combine FFP, Illumination, and Side Parallax adjustment. If you could bring something like that to the market at a competitive price ($300-$400), it would be an instant success as long as it keeps with your current track record of reliability.

Just curious why would you want the BDC in a turret instead of the reticle?
Once you start messing with dials tracking is not always true and it's just more moving parts to worry about.
The rest of your comment is very interesting hopefully enough people understand the reticles value and request it in higher end scopes like you mentioned.

Thanks again

The BDC wouldn't be there instead of the reticle, but rather in addition to the reticle to allow shots to be dialed in and aimed dead center if the shooter likes that method better than holding over. The BDC I'm thinking of would be kind of a hybrid between BDC and standard target turret. Rather than a knob with clicks only at pre-determined ranges, it could be set at .1 mil or 1/2 moa clicks with ranges simply marked on the turret.

Honestly, of all the features I listed the BDC turret would be the first one I'd be willing to give up. I typically shoot using holdovers anyway, but I understand that a lot of guys like to dial in as well. In truth, for a DMR scope with ranging and holdover reticle, capped adjustments are probably best. A good compromise would probably be some low profile target turrets. Something low enough to avoid being snagged on stuff and thrown out of adjustment. Low profile turrets would also facilitate the use of a micro red dot sight atop a railed scope ring cap for close in use.

One of the problems with a standard turret using MOA is that you would end up with 1-2 complete revolutions.
This reticle was created for fast ranging and engaging of targets having limited time of exposure. In testing we were able to engage targets faster and more accurately in all angles with out a known given range. The best solution to what your talking about is this reticle but dial in turrets giving you the option for precision type shooting or dialing in. You would aim with center dot
giving you the best of both worlds.
I can't disclose much as far as what's coming next, all I can say is great things are to come from PA.

I was lucky enough to shoot with this new optic while out with dimitri, it's simplicity is great since I'm new to ranging targets and wind age reading this optic was easy to use and looks great. We were mainly shooting approx 470 yards but playing around out to 800 before packing up and it does great

Ill def pick one up for my 5.45 AR and Ak

Really dieing to throw my money at one of these, and interested in what the differences between a straight six and a prism five power will be. Field of view, clarity, size, weight, durabilty... I am just rambling because I dont know what else to do while I wait for one of these bad boys.

I have been testing the 5x for a while now and have never lost 0 and have confirmed all BDC hitting steel targets 18x36 at 700 yards consistently and even 800! The 6x was clear and worked just as good, I don't know the exact specs on them.

From my basic education on optics the prisim should be clearer just because it cuts down on internal reflections. also all the straight through binoculars ove handled have been heavier... seems theyd be more robust as well since they appear simpler and more tubular.

I have only taken my ar to 600 yards with irons. not to hard on the bright orange targets. that scope should make the black ones feel the pain as well

Just an idea... instead of putting a rail on top of the scope at a 45 degree angle like on your 3x version, maybe it could be at the base on a 45... just so you have more of a cheek weld when using a tiny reflex dot.

Here is a pic of it while testing in Palm Springs CA

Same design as the 3x but in 5x

I would wait for the 5x it's ability to range and engage targets at unknown distances even in windy conditions makes it ideal for medium range.

I'm hoping this is going to come in different options. I'd like to see this in 1-4x, 2-8, and 3-9x powers. Those would be great for a lot of peoples needs. If it were a fine reticle, (like a 1moa dot for the main dot) I'd like to see a 3-12, or 4-16x as well.

I see personally i prefer the set up in the pic PA 5x and PA micro on a 45 mount on the gun and a mini anti canting device
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352066949.286512.jpg

I prefer the PA micro over a fast fire or something smaller. I have been torturing our Micro for a while and know I can count on it. So Micro 0-200 5x 300-800
BUIS if all fails.

Sounds like the 1-6 will fit your needs
I can't disclose much but can tell we are going to bring out some cool stuff next year! If things go right this reticle will end up in much higher end scopes.
We also have a 7.62x39 version in the works and other calibers will follow.

I had a chance to shoot this scope last tue. All I can say is WOW!!! The ranging is dead on as we'll as the BDC. I was easily getting hits at 500 & 600 yards. When Dimitri told me to stretch it out to 700 I was unsure, more of myself than the scope. But when I got 4 out of 5 hits I was impressed! Then he tells me he wants to back it up to 800. I thought "5.56 at 800?" Needless to say I impressed myself with 2 out of 5 hits then 3 out of 5 on the next try!! Not bad considering there was a bit of a wind blowing!! Those windage dots sure did come in handy!! I can't wait to get my own!

What mount is that micro dot in? Do you need to have a quad railed forend to use the mount? I need the 5x to clear my buis so I can't scoot it back too far to clear room for that mount. (don't want a quad rail either I have a KISS/ light weight build).
