Doesn't look like it to me, unless he blended colors. Duracoat's FDE (or their Magpul FDE at least) is considerably lighter.

Thanks! and your correct, I anodized the lower, upper, charging handle, magpul trigger guard and buffer tube in a Med. Brown. I really liked the way it came out.

Beautiful job - simply outstanding. You and I need to go into business making ARs look different.

Very impressed, and you get my vote for best looking AR.

Swapped out my M910 for a X300 on a Larue mount... So far based soley on handling, light output and weight savings it was a good idea....

Ok, after three months of parts searching & fund raising she 90% complete. Now just waiting for a rear Buis, Doctor red dot and Larue scope ring mount for the red dot and all's done.

This is my 6.8mm Stag Arms upper w/ High Standard lower. I duracoated it in tactical coyote tan from lauerweaponry.com. I put about 8 coats of paint on it and I was shocked at the amount of detail that still showed up. It was pretty easy once I got over the fear of screwing it up. I am very happy with the result. Let me know what you think. I still need to paint all of my furniture and the flashlight is off, but hey, its a work in progress. Semper Fi!

Those are nice rifles but can I see pictures of you shooters with them? Whenever I see Coyote Tan kits on AR's, I picture a 300lb guy wearing shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

I don't own a Coyote Tan AR. Anyways... my bad, it was meant as a joke. I forgot the Anyways.. I'm all for tactical mumbo jumbo. My SN is MallNinja if you haven't noticed. I always find it humorous when I go to the range and I see guys that resemble my high school chem teacher with flip flops and a fully kitted up AR, camo and all. Just funny that's all. I mean, I drive my sports car and pretend I'm Michael Schumacher so whatever.

Sure did. This one is number three. I learn how to make them better each time.

It takes about a whole day to make. There's ~300' of 550 cord in there.

Excellent pics of your rifle, particularly of the Vltor CASV-EL handguard. I can see that it raises the height of your Eotech[ and other optics] quite a bit.
Are you happy with this raised height ? Any down side, issues with installation, and would you buy it again ?

Actually this rifle is a work in progress. I don't have my mind made up yet on whether to go with an ACOG in FDE or stay with this Eotech and put an FDE housing on it... or maybe build each set-up

No downsides to installation, it's real easy to put together. The unit is sturdy, and I love the look, weight and feel of it. I plan on buying more in different colors and also one in midlength (CASV-M).

As for the raised height, I prefer it that way. It seems more natural... maybe it's my big head.
