Default 2013 NCPS Memorial Day Multi-Gun

The Northern California Practical Shooters will be holding a USPSA multi-gun match on Monday, May 27, 2013.

6 Stages - USPSA Time Plus Scoring

Divisions: Open, Tactical, Limited, Heavy Metal Tactical, and Heavy Metal Limited.

No steel core rifle ammo. Lead Birdshot only. #6 or smaller.

You may be required to shoot your rifle or shotgun while wearing your pistol. Use a holster with good retention. Bring a tight choke or heavy loads to engage shotgun steel at long range. This is a Level 1 Club Match. Each squad RO’s itself and will have a squad leader that is an USPSA/NROI Certified Range Officer. We will use the USPSA Time Plus scoring method.

Shooters who have never shot an NCPS Multi-Gun and do not have a USPSA Classification will require the approval of the Match Director to enter the match.

Registration/Signups start at 7:45AM. Shooting will start promptly at 8:30AM

Match Fee: $50.00. No refunds after May 20, 2013. A portion of the entry fee will be returned as cash awards within each division. Checks will be mailed to winners who are not present at the awards.

Reserve your slot by sending in your entry form and $50.00 entry fee. Make checks payable to “NCPS” and mail to: NCPS, C/O Cathy Hartsock, 5150 Fair Oaks Blvd, #336, Carmichael, CA 95608. E-mail Cathy when you mail your check so we can avoid lost check issues on match day. If paying for someone else please list the names in the memo field of your check. On match day, first come, first served for those who have not prepaid.

Match Director: Steve McCormick, steve1911@comcast.net
Range Master: Ron Troyer, ron@d-web.com
Registration/Squadding: Cathy Hartsock, c_hartsock@sbcglobal.net

The Northern California Practical Shooters is an Independent Shooting Organization - not a Folsom Shooting Club Member Organization.

Im pretty sure its the same as SMM3G, if its sticks to a magnet its not ok, no matter where the steel is.

The match is almost 2/3 full. If you want to make this match please send in your application with the match fees quickly. Applications without match fees will not reserve you a spot in the match.

Also with respect to steel jacketed ammo. If the magnet picks it up at any little bit you will not be able use it.

The wolf I have is Steel Case. I use it all the time for hoseing stages. They're only worried about the projectile.

All current Russian commercial ammo has a bi-metal projectile that sticks to a magnet. If the bullet sticks to a magnet, you are DQed. Steel cased ammo such as Hornady Steel Match is OK.

Does the NCPS hold these matches at a specific location somewhere on a Northern California shooting facility, or are these virtual shooting events using Northern California as a Time Zone reference?

The match flyer will tell you that it'll be at Sac Valley.

Is that where we find the location of shooting events these days, in the match flyer and not the announcement? It couldn't be in the first or second sentence? Well, as they say, "That's Progress!".

Thanks for the posting.

If you can't find the location in the match flyer, how can you find the targets to shoot at. NCPS has been holding this 3 gun match for over 10 years.
Most all NorCal USPSA shooters know where NCPS holds their matches. It is a big range.
This is not a beginners match.

For stage 5, it might be a good idea to specify when a shooter is considered to have moved, since there might be some different opinions and gaming there...

Challenging my shooting experience is not the way to learn the importance of including the location of a shooting event in the posting. There are many experienced and highly skilled shooters visiting CGs that do not know NCPS even exists much less its location.

The experienced and respectful shooters that I know would have answered something akin to:
The XYZ event that you asked about is at……It is a great shooting facility with many friendly and helpful shooters. We always welcome ya-da-ya-da-yada.

Responding to questions this way makes it much easier on egos when their shooting results get grinded to the bottom of the score sheet by ‘new shooters’.

You might want to look back at how you asked the question. Smart @$$ questions get smart @$$ answers. We welcome experienced and respectful shooters.

Are all the targets under 350 yards. If not I need to borrow a laser range finder first.

Im guessing that the bonus target is beyond that, so bring your range finder and heavy bullets.

Default Target Distances

Stage 5 has not been set up yet, but I know the bonus target is beyond 300 yards. Everything else is inside 300 yards.

As usual an excellent match, even with the light rain, (kept it cool anyway)
Thanks to all the squads for helping with the tear down.
Steve, thanks again for all your hard work.
