please assign starting stage to all squads so everyone doesnt drive straight to the long range stage first! please no squad jumping this year! and please make sure the RO's are on 110% hustle mode.

7 stages when there is the least sunlight hours all year is a tough act to pull off.

Am I reading correctly that on stage 2 with the shotgun spinner, you cannot use buckshot? Is that a range rule for some reason, I hope there is some there keeping people honest

Correct no buckshot allowed, #4 or #6 will spin it fine, we have used the same set up for multiple SG matches. There will be on stage RO's, so hopefully I will not have to DQ anyone for using unauthorized ammo be it buckshot or steel core rifle rounds.

I may not have all the gear to shoot, but I would be willing to help out resetting stages and whatnot.

I have been so busy I missed this. We will have to see about getting a Taft contingent to head on out. I just hooked Jeremiah and Joe up with the Mossberg 930 JM model. I think they are in love.

Sounds like there are competitors who would like to use buckshot for the steel targets, so I will ALLOW buckshot for the match.

sorry but got a newbie question. for squad play i assume you have someone shooting rifle, another member SG and another for pistol. or is it each member must use all three?

Each shooter is on there own.

I believe there will be seven stages. Some stages the shooter will shoot shotgun/pistol. Some stages the shooter will shoot rifle/pistol. Might be a stage where the shooter shoots rifle/shotgun, and there might be a stage where the shooter will shoot all three weapons.

Its a hoot... come out and shoot.

To clarify, this is not a team event. Competitors are squaded up only to manage the match for administrative purposes. You need people to tape targets, reset targets, and keep score. So you do so for your fellow competitors while they focus on shooting. When it is your turn to shoot, everyone repays the favor.

One week from tomorrow is the match. There are over 50 shooters registered and paid. There is room for about 20 late registrants and/or walk ins. Don't chance walking in, register now.

We have used La Quinta Inn 3232 Riverside Dr 93308 661-325-7400, they are close to the range and there are several eating places within walking distance along with 3 gas stations.

Question on Shotgun capacity for Tac-Scope. Is it 8+1 rounds max at all times or only prior to the start?

I usually stay at the Motel 6 on 5241 Olive Tree Court. 22 miles to the range, about 45 minutes.

So what's the deal with walk-ins on Sunday? Enough room or don't bother?

I just received information from the Asst. Match Director that there are 51 paid entrants and spots left for 18 walk in's. You should be GTG

Seven challenging stages with absolutely gorgeous weather expected, Hope to see you.

Had a great time today. It was cold this morning, but the late morning and afternoon warmth was great.

For my first match, I had a blast and learned even more. It was cool to watch Taran Butler shoot a couple of stages.

Are the normalized scores up somewhere? The link only has the raw times what I can see.

The scores you see include the penalties.

It was scored on total time rather than 100 points per stage and percentages of the fastest time.

I was a great match with fun and challenging stage, great RO's and we were done before 4:00.

My only comment is about the spinner on stage 2. It was our first stage and only 1 on the squad was able to spin it, just barely. The guys who couldn't do it were Chris S, Mike V, Rich W and myself (no strangers to 3-Gun). I shot with with 6 rounds of 00 Buck and it wouldn't go. At the end of the day I watched a guy shoot it with 3 rounds and it nearly spun with the first 2. Something changed there. 30 second penalty was stiff especially after you worked on it for 10.

I'll make sure this match is on my calendar for next year. Big thanks to Wayde and the staff!

I shot the spinner for my second stage and it spun with 1 round of birdshot (3.5 dram, 1 1/8 oz. of 7.5) and 2 rounds of 00 buck. (that was, of course, after I stopped it on my first attempt)

But, I was not in to win anything on my first 3 Gun match.

Oh, I thought it was a USPSA match. Not that it really matters

Sounds like you had a blast... I'll try to get it on the schedule for next year
