Default Tactical Savage MKII F

Latest build using a Savage MKII F. Range time in 2 weeks for test fire.

1/2" rail riser
Paid $70 for the used stock. Bolts on like the AICS WELLS G96 stock.
Was able to slide the action/barrel through the bolt metal housing

ya its a bone stock .22LR Savage MKII F.

i dont know the effective range on a varmint. never shot a varmint before.

last week ive been hitting steel targets at 200 yards with bulk ammo when it was sitting in my Barrett M99 conversion. not consistently though

im going to the range again to test it if i can hit 300 yards with this stock

Is it just the way the pictures look or is the scope a bit too tall for a proper cheek weld when prone?

Are you shooting prone or off a bench?

the scope is too tall because i got the wrong scope base. i bought a shorter scope base to bring down the height. ill take some new pics when it gets in.

off a bench.

Irregardless of cheek weld it's a bad idea to have the scope centerline that far away from the bore. OP the scopes too tall because you've got that tri-rail contraption where the scope should be. Functionally it's compromised but if you were just going for looks... it is cool looking but entirely impractical...

i agree with what youre saying on impractical. its just for looks and steel plinking. these builds are purposely done for form over function. if i can get good groupings on paper, great. if not, its expected. i mainly hang out at the shooting gallery in the pistol bay area.
