Dang, I haven't checked this thread for updates. I work Saturdays and won't be available to do that Saturday afternoon shift. Only Sunday available.

I was originally on the schedule for Sunday afternoon. Not sure what happened. If you guys don't need help Sunday anymore please let me know so I don't show up unexpectedly.

Should I still be going.... Are we bringing our Cal legal configured rifle to show as examples like at previous Calguns booths? If so, I have an M4 style AR15, FAL, AK 74, or Keltec Su16A etc etc that I would be good examples of different configurations. I don't want to bring same rifles as others so we have variety of examples.

Let me know. Thanks!

Jeff

Do you want afternoon Sunday or both shifts Sunday? Either or both is fine by me.

The Blue CGN Polos will be sent to the Saturday AM coordinator.
Red Monkey isn't even on my O/P.

Redmonkey has all the other swag and has his contact info set already, he Tacticalplinker and I are all setting up the booth @ 7 sharp, it'll be easier to send it to Redmonkey.

Re: Redmonkey not on OP.

He SHOULD be. As well as removing simply115 and changing guitarmoto to the Sun pm shift.

Bplvr, work with us please. Being our first booth it may not mimic the typical chain of events but we're gonna get er done and do a good job too.

I agree with Ready_eSeVe.

It's our 1st show, so the kinks (confusion?) with schedules and procedure are to be expected.

I'm trying to, but yins guys must follow the procedures that have been in place for the past 5 years. On the O/P there are 3 questions that are required to be answered before I can put a person on the roster.
I just read ALL of the posts and RM never chimed in on this point.
Does he have a CGN Blue Polo ? what shift ? what day ?
This is why I use the replies on the thread as opposed to PM to set up the show. The reason that there is a 4 person max is that X-Roads only lets
out 2 passes /8ft. booth. I managed to get them to allow us to buy 2 more as we have a 'rotating staff'. THE Saturday coordinator collects the armbands @ 5:00 and reuses them on Sunday. X-roads is aware of people trying to get more armbands to get their friends in to buy ammo.
This is a NO-NO. X-Roads has a long waiting list to get a table.
We MUST abide by their rules.
The blue polos were established to make us look professional. CGN T-shirts were not permitted as it was to confusing to the public as from whom they were getting their answers.
I know you guys will do a good job, but I need to know what is going
on and who is taking charge of the booth.
It looks like we now have 3 co-cordinators....

The reason it didn't work exactly as first planned is because I jumped in to co-coordinate midstream. At first my shifts were filled by RedMonkey. I should have been added but what actually happened was I got added and RM got deleted. That should not happened.

RM has a polo and he should be added to both Sat shifts.

Good info, thank you. We absolutely will not abuse these privilages and will abide by the rules. No question, I personally swear to it.

One thing to keep in mind is that it will be extremelly beneficial to have as many calgunners as possible participating and gaining experience. Increasing participation and gaining experience will only help in the long run as we grow our chapter.

Absolutely agree, the polo is mandatory from our POV and everyone will wear it, no exceptions.

Now this is not really fair, we've communicated a few times our proposed structure via phone and email conversations.

RedMonkey is our Chapter leader and thus heavily involved, since we coordinate our efforts through him first and foremost.

TacticalPlinker and I are the "official" Booth Coordinators for our chapter.

That's it, end of story. For this first booth all three of us are working closely together for several reasons.

1. RM and TP have attended a show and therefore have the most experience.
2. RM is chapter leader and has insight and access to swag, materials etc.
3. RM was initially tasked as coordinator and was already accumulating materials. So why change mid stream, right?
4. Experience and consistency. The three of us will gain the first hand experience and know what each other are doing etc.

After this show, RM will leave TP and I in charge for future shows and then we'll be streamlined.

The roster and polo's needed stand as in my earlier post.

Ready, thanks for chiming in, I appreciate it.

bplvr, In an effort to keep this thread clear of "back and forth" with you, I had sent you at least 4 emails trying to clear this up, but you did not reply to a single one. I will not go over every point as Ready_eSeve has basically covered all of them. I will however, point out that the reason I didn't chime in with my desired shifts is because I was the one you requested to have a booth at this show and the time of my request to you and mrlonewolf, I expressed what days I would cover. At the same time, you had suggested we work the CM show, which we did, so it should have been obvious that I already had a shirt. If you wished for me to sign up in this thread, a simply reply to any of my emails would have cleared all of this up.

Regards,

RM

Aaah, I think I'm seeing one area where bplvr and I were differing.

bplvr = We only have 4 passes total for each day

me = 8 shifts possible per day and therefore the possibility of 8 passes (I seemed to have assumed this incorrectly)

If I'm correct in the assumption above, to rectify, I will personally pay for any admission over the 4 we're allocated.

I don't see a problem with that since there will be no more than 4 people behind the table at any given time and nobody's "sneaking" anybody in.

So for example:

Sat passes = total 4 allocated to TacticalPlinker, ready_eSeVe, RedMonkey and chozenfew805

Sun passes = total 4 allocated to TacticalPlinker, ready_eSeVe, chozenfew805 and ak4me, guitarmoto is the 5th volunteer and I will pay his entry fee.

At no time are there more than 4 occupants of the booth.

Am I on track here? Will this satisfy this specific portion of our differences?

My suggestion is absolutely no more than 4 people at the booth at any given time. Hence the point and purpose of shifts.... We had that issue at the Costa Mesa show because of RedMonkey & myself being there. The table was simply too crowded, we had guys standing in front of the table. This led to people simply walking by the booth.

As for the "sneaking people in" thing, I have no idea where this is coming from, but I can personally assure you no one will be "sneaking" anyone into the show. The only people with armbands will be whoever is working at the booth at that time (4 people).

This is final version of logo for GunsR4us going into production.
Its a time and money thing for now, mostly money.

I was thinking with the General Municipal and Special elections coming up we may want to have some Voter Registration cards available at the booth.

Attention VC Members:

We may require alternates for this gun show due to late and unforeseen attendance issues.

If anyone out there is still interested in volunteering, please post here!

Chozenfew805 was the latest volunteer who contacted us and informed us he was unable to make it.

But the problem has been resolved. We're set for all shifts on both Saturday and Sunday...

The next show, we'll maintain better contact with all volunteers and compose a list of alternates (whom we'll keep contact with as well).

Hope to see lots of local CalGuns members stop by the booth and say hello.

Thank you. It's out 1st show here in Ventura and only the 2nd show for myself & RedMonkey. But everything went very well considering. We'll be going for round #2 tomorrow.

@Guitarmoto; We had periods of heavy traffic. But overall we had a good turnout. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow.

It was good to meet you all as well, anytime I talk to someone about this site, I have nothing but good things to say. Ill keep spreading the word ! And yup the search for the python continues (although I do have some good offers from people I talked to at the show)

Ill be at the show again tomorrow around 1-2pm (nothing else better to do before work) so i'll stop by, I have a co-worker who liked the zombie key chain I got from your booth and I'm more then happy to donate again and pick one up for her if there are any left.

Thanks again guys !

Hey Ruger, thank you for the support. We absolutely have more key chains left. When you stop by again, be sure to mention your username.

One in the bag! We had a great show IMO. I personally want to send thanks to several people, it takes a fair amount of effort to set up and execute these things. RedMonkey and TacticalPlinker for getting the ball rolling and "demanding" a show @ VC fairgrounds, the support team and veterans behind the scenes; Bplvr, Can'thavenuthingood, mrlonewolf and all the C3 guys n' gals and of course our faithful booth manners Guitarmoto and ak4me. You guys are all OK in my book , thank you.

Shout out to all the calgunners who stopped by and said hello too! Sightings of someguy, brandon04gt, killacam and rugermini14. Those are the ones I can remember who gave screen names.

@ blademan

Hey, your private messaging is blocked or something, it wouldn't let me reply to you!

Anyway, this is my reply to your message:

Quote:
Thank you for the update and for doing that work. I'm sure you gained from it too, if it was close to my experience at the show. I've forwarded your suggestion to the Calguns Community Chapters (C3) group.

ETA: @ everyone

blademan informed me he passed out about 300 "you need to fight back" flyers at the most recent gun show in Paso Robles! He said people were very receptive to the info.
