Interesting.....

They never did ask for a copy of mine? I stated in my original online request
that I did have a Calif. CCW, but they never requested a copy.

Oh well, Congrats anyways.

A copy of your CCW covers the 'training' requirements is the reason to send a copy of it/them.

I finally got around to getting my AZ permit.

When I emailed a request for an application packet, they said everything is now online, print and mail. They didn't specify where to get the fingerprint cards, I ordered these for $4.99:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00...b_b_asin_image

And this for $6.98:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00...b_b_asin_image

Sent in a copy of my CA permit and a copy of my training cert from the class I took for my CA permit.

Received AZ permit in 9 days.

The FBI fingerprint card is also online as a PDF. A entire ream of cardstock is probably cheaper than 3/$25.

Mailed my renewal on the 11th. Wife said it arrived today (I'm on the road).
11 days. Not bad considering we're beyond the outskirts of rural.

I just finally got around to getting mine.

I have a CA CCW. Sent in my fingerprints, application, proof of training, $60 cashiers check. I had my AZ permit in less than 2 weeks. Amazing. Especially considering it took CA almost 9 months to get my permit initially. AND....AZ has their sh*t together and actually sent the permit on a plastic ID Card. Not some piece of paper like my CA CCW permit. I wish they could get this right in this state.

San Bernardino County has used DL style cards for years.

I see you are in Solano County make sure you keep checking for renewals times, it is currently 60 days out and many of us have expired permits now while waiting even though we filed at the 45 day prior Mark it was at.

That's awesome to hear, Solano does not. Supposedly they're going that way but I've heard it for a few years now with no luck.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Thankfully, I'm not up for renewal until next June so hopefully things will get back under control by then.

Another reason why I was so surprised when AZ got me the permit in less than 2 weeks. I was fully expecting it to take 8-12 weeks due to Covid or me being out of state. God this state is so backwards.....

Just an update for those applying to AZ: I applied mid-July, and just received my CCW permit in the mail today, August 29. So about 6 weeks. They may have been delayed by the COVID-19 surge. Hope this helps those of you who have applied recently.

It was a class specifically for the Arizona/Florida permit. A company called Aegis Authority. You can find them on the USCCA website. It was held in a room in a Holiday Inn in Hesperia. Price was $50 if you just want either the Arizona certificate or the Florida certificate. If you want both then it's $100. Took 4 hours and they have everything you need there and they will help you fill out the application. Fingerprints were $20 and you'll need to bring your money order and passport photo (for Florida) and they'll even mail it out for you overnight for $10.

And they send you a renewal notice when it’s time!

you can get it w/ your ccw renewal from Powers Firearms Training here in Bakersfield ... I had a finger print card and paper work from my CCW instructor paid the money and I think it was about 3-6 weeks I had a hard card not rice paper like Ca, and its a non resident card for 5 years ...best 60 bucks I've spent.. so many more states your covered by.. so why not...so if your renewing or just getting your CCW let Craig or Becky know and they will set you up!!

Interesting.

I renewed mine earlier this year. They sent me the reminder, the form and an envelope to mail it back in (I had to put a stamp on it). Filled it out, put in a check and sent it off. 2 weeks later got my renewed Az license in the mail. Easy.
