Default Gun buy back tomorrow

There is apparently a gun buyback happening tomorrow.

https://timesofsandiego.com/crime/20...estions-asked/

No info on what gift cards are being offered. I have at least one that I'd be willing to part with for $150 for a decent gift card.

Also curious as to if I could pick up a nice revolver for cheap.

Scheduled Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Caltrans Park and Ride on Caliente Avenue at SR-905, participants will receive a gift card valued at $150 for hand guns, rifles or shotguns, and $250 for assault weapons.

Down by 905, they'll buy back the guns Obama gave away?

Probably. SWMBO saw it and got excited.

I did too. For different reasons. Thinking I might be able to score a deal on something.

No you cannot pick up anything. Never heard of it in ca and I have been to several buybacks. Happened in Seattle years ago. LEOS will harass you out of the area.

That make sense - especially since they picked a location that isn't close to any FFL that will do a PPT either without an appointment or for handguns.

I’ve seen LGS with used guns for $50 or less. Even with DROS and sales tax you could still make money on this buyback,

Stop spreading FUD.

Last one they had in North County San Diego a few years back... there were well over a dozen guys, including myself, with signs offering cash for guns.
I even had an EZ-up and a table....donuts, etc.

I made an arrangement with Chad at Empowered Firearms to open early....
So from 8am on it was game on.
After 10am...most went to Turners.
I believe another place in Escondido was also open.

Talk to people that pull up politely and professionally, explain that you will give them cash money for what they have, and a legal transfer will take place in Vista at a gun shop requiring an ID, and a signature.
Some people didn't care for what we were doing.
Cops that would stop and chat... once informed of my process, left with no other contact.
I would view the firearms, make an offer, and give them half the offer in cash.
We would agree on a time to meet there, each one was 30 minutes after the other.
I was able to finish 3 transfers at once, on one DROS at the end of the day.

I spent about $400 on everythng that day, but I saved...

Ruger MK 1 .22 pistol (good shape-still needs refinish)

Marlin model 60 .22 rifle (stock refinished/gun cerokoated flat black)

Mossberg model 42 .22 bolt single shot (stock spoterized/gun cerokoted)

Beretta model 420 .25 acp (clean/shoots)

A few years before that...saved a Browning Citori and an SKS still in grease.
Made a grand on a $300 investment.

Back then....you could still do face to face transfer on C&R guns.

But...follow the guideline above, and make offers on guns at buybacks, do transfer later at gunstore.

Possibly find a real good deal.
