Therein lies the fun in these. Even though I've started to get a little bit more particular about what to buy, I am a sucker for these mystery box deals.

I'm kind of picky about when I pick rifles off a rack, but with over-the-internet stuff, I don't even worry since it's out of my control

Mine hasn't shipped yet either. Classic is normally very prompt with shipping so. I am guessing that they got clobbered during this promotion.

I asked them to dig through the pile until they found me a 1953 Izhevsk sneak mixed in. That could also explain the delay.

They extended the sale again, this time no end date. Hope they aren't waiting for more to sell before they sort.

Default Buy now! - Classic has Chinese SKS for $269.00, 2 Days Only!

Mine shows "In Transit" and is scheduled to arrive Tuesday the 27th. It's in Illinois now.

ETA: I just realized that I've got 4 C&R rifles inbound. Man, that 03FFL+COE is a hideous bi*ch goddess.

Remember, they're on East Coast Time, and I think they're off at 5pm? So you can't call later than 2pm PST

It took nearly a week for them to ship and it's supposed to be here next Friday. I'll post up some pics then because I'm sure I'll have questions about exactly what I get

I went ahead and threw an order in (with hand select, matching numbers, etc) on the 19th...no word on shipping yet but from all appearances they got the response they were looking for with the sale!

Drat...missed the UPS guy. Although if I call him, he can often swing back by the house on his way back to the barn. But I've got more pieces coming tomorrow, so I just might wait until then.

First world problems...

ETA: Called him, he'll be back about 4:15pm. Cool, man.

Quick-y iPhone pics. This thing is thick with cosmoline! Overall looks like it's in good mechanical shape. Bluing looks worn away completely though.

I was surprised to find a tool kit and oil/solvent bottle! And the bottle is full of oil and solvent!!!

It came with a cleaning rod, but it doesn't seem to be the correct one. The knurled head doesn't fit in the notch under the front sight, which prevents the bayonet from locking closed/open. Oh well, they said they might not come with a CR at all so I'm not really complaining.

Thanks for the pics! So far so good. Always fun to get them cleaned up. Probably has a mirror bore and will be a good shooter.

Looks like a 5 digit Chinese ghost. I can already tell that thing will clean up nicely. I don't know why they keep sending out SKS rifles with Mosin tool kits but hey it is an extra freebie.

I am out of town and will miss mine, so I am will calling it on Saturday. I have got it down to about 2 hours to decosmo the rifle from third world gunky to first world funky so by Sunday night I should have it ready for prime time

JF, I will be pleased if mine is in similar condition as yours. The stock looks very good and faded bluing just makes it look mean. I don't need any more safe queen SKS's...give me a mean basterd looking one instead..

Yeah, the tool kit was unexpected but hey, why not? I still can't believe the solvent/oil bottle was full. And it didn't leak a drop. Who knows what's in there or how old it is.

Thanks for the kinds words about the condition, BR. I agree that the faded bluing will look cool. The metal is in great shape. And the stock doesn't have any visible cracks. I'm sure it will clean up nicely.

Yes, it's both a hand select & #'s matching rifle. It's in really good shape overall. Not bad for $330 shipped!

Just for reference, this was the last "hand select and matching numbers" Chicom SKS I got from Classic:

I am glad to report it is indeed all matching down to the stock. No pitting or corrosion, stock is solid, and I put about 100 rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. As JF indicated above, it is a solid bargain. The stock could be easily refinished but it is just fine in its milsurp experienced form.

Nice rifle Joe, I love the no bluing left look, I agree with Bobby, it looks "experienced".

Looking forward to seeing what others received out of this batch.

Fresh off of the UPS truck. All I've done is a quick wipedown and it looks good to me! Now to figure out exactly what I have here before cleaning all the cosmo.

And a bonus!

Looks like an Arsenal 26. Stock looks pretty good. Bluing is almost all gone, but I like that look, lol

Did you go all matching or cosmetics?

I'll be seeing mine tonight. I'll grab a pic or 2 if I can

I went with all matching and cosmetics. I'm very happy!! The only numbers, aside from the import stuff, I can see so far are the serial numbers and the arsenal stamp. Any info you experts can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Stock may be stamped as well

I don't think you can date it. The number has to be over 1mill in order to put a yr to it
