I didn't pay attention to the 30-06 this time around but it seemed to be consistently on the shelves throughout the panic. If Clairemont doesn't have it for some reason then Aero might.
I just dropped by Clairemont again around 4. The .45 is gone but they have a whole shelf of .223 in 150 rnd boxes. |

Walmart on Clairemont has a lot.
American Eagle 5.56 885 150/$69.97 too many boxes to count American Eagle .223 100/$45.97 around 5 boxes Independence 5.56 20/$10.49 50 boxes Winchester 12ga 100/26.xx 10-20 boxes They also had some .40 but not much. Maybe 3 I saw two boxes of 30-06 om Sunday but haven't looked since. I am going there tomorrow and will look again. Hopefully they will get some 9mm and 22lr in. Although I haven't seen 22lr there ever. |

Wal Mart in Oceanside has one of the largest ammo cages and get one of the largest shipments in SD. They load the case between 7-8am. The sycamore Wal Mart will sometimes release ammo the night before if you ask a manager. They have ammo because they are overlooked a lot.
Turners in San Marcos gets shipments Wednesdays. Lines start around 8-9. They open at 10am. People are camping for 22lr. Large caliber ammo is plentiful. Big 5 In Oceanside gets shipment on Mondays. Get 22LR every week. They are heavy on large caliber ammo. Quantico on coast highway in Oceanisde is where I have been getting my 22lr. They have been getting cases of thunderbolt for just under $300 after taxes, and are selling them all the way down to 500round boxes for the same price, about $30 after taxes. |

Was just at Wal Mart off 805 and Clairemont Mesa Blvd. I picked up the last 3 boxes of the Federal 100 ct value pack of .223 but they had dozens of the American Eagle ammo "can" (plastic) 5.56 in 120 ct.
Not a bad price but I figured I'd grab the last 3 of the Federal and try my luck with the American Eagle "cans" later today or tomorrow. |

Grossmont center walmart last weekend was all stocked up. I was good and only bought one 100rd box of Federal 45 (there were about 9 more boxes) for my new and first 1911 (out of jail sunday). Was 38.96. They also had about 15 + boxes of federal 100 rd 9mm for $24. Been seeing alot of 223 lately as well.
Tempted to buy more 45 and 9 but I just purchased the gun and Christmas is coming. The wife was fine with 1 box but woulda put the kabosh on spending alot on ammo that trip. Figure maybe this weekend I can get some more. Spread out the cost a little |

Shipping put me at $52.09 for a brick lol. How do people afford to buy ammo online with shipping charges like that? I could understand if you were buying a case, but most of these places limit you to 1 box. Luckily for me, Walmart always seems to have what I need when I go. I don't shoot a lot of .22lr either so a brick will last me a while.

They must be trying to make up for their horrible customer service.

I visited 5 Walmarts yesterday (Santee, Grossmont, Aero Drive, Claremont, San Marcos). (Yes, it was painful.) Each was well stocked with .223 .40 .45 with some 9mm and various larger caliber rifle rounds (.308, 30-06).
No 22LR to be found... |

DGM, Morena, lots of ammo available. Seemed to be a wide variety. I was looking for .223. 50 round boxes $39.00. Lots of 20 round boxes. various brands. Saw lots of .38sp, .357, .40, .45, 9mm, shotgun.
First time I've been in there since they remodeled. Ammo is now harder to peruse. No prices visible. PIA. Had to go looking for someone to help.
