lol... So I had to get casevac'd today...
Sure ****. There I was when out of nowhere. BAM!!!!
A ****ing tractor! WTF lol. Seriously, I was standing off the side of the road talking to a kid who had this huge political flag, it blew up into my face and when he said, "Sorry." and pulled it down, BAM, I see this mass of red metal slam him and me into a humvee pinning us. Then the driver freaked out and switched gears pressing harder into us. I think it threw the parked humvee sideways about half a foot or so. We were on a one way street with no intersections around so at the time I thought it was deliberate. What I was told after I got back to base was that a woman tried to pass him and hit his tires and that caused the massy furgeson to veer right and slam into us. After it pulled away from us, I was reaching for my weapon til I realized that the police surrounding me were frendlies and my buddy was standing over me calling the dismounts back. I kept yelling at the police asking where the kid was because he was screaming while I was on the ground. They were trying to help me up but I was yelling at them not to move me. It didnt even occur to me at the time that didnt know english lol. So I get back and no broken bones but I cant really move one of my legs and I'm in pain except for right now cause I'm drugged up on pain killers lol. So there it is... no **** there I was in a supposed non hostile country when BAM! A ****ing tractor

Aparently some cols and CSMs and all sorts of other enlisted are talking about a GI hero that ran out and pushed a kid out of the way of a tractor and took the hit! LOL. Too bad I'm on quarters and cant hobble to the chow hall to tell them what really happened. I'm no hero lol. just a **** magnet.

That's awesome, you beat a tractor and by tomorrow there will be a legend about you
Hope the injuries are bruises and not stuff that comes up later.

I'm former yugoslavia. Still looking for bunkers with AKs and SKSs but no luck yet Then again, its still more heavily mined per square than any other country so walking around looking for weapon storage bunkers is kind of a bad idea. People out here in Kosovo drive worse than TJ mehico and the streets are narrower. HAving a drivers lisence is just a suggestion really. Lets hope lightning doesnt strike twice.

NICE DUTY!! Well, other than the whole mine thing. At least there are women there. Beats the hell out of these Ninjas we got over here. Yeah, we're not supposed to wear our uniform tops when traveling here. "It's offensive to the locals", or "We stick out." Yeah, cuz 4 white guys in an SUV in brown t-shirts heavily armed doesn't stand out at all.... I hear ya on the driving thing too. I believe the cars here are either parked, or going 200 KM/H.

I'm told that he was ok. Just a bruised hip. He was one of the kids that bugs the hell out of KFOR. First thing the kids learn in English here is, "gimme money!" or "Gimme MRE!" When they get older into their teens, they try to find and angle to exploit us. I just shoe them away or give them candy. I know I'm not helping the situation but I get a tub of candy from the local store and give it to my platoon sgt who rides with me sometimes. He likes to give it out to the kids and as soon as they get it they take off.
The older ones though like the one that took the hit, you have to be really careful because they are sneaky. I was watching this one too closely though when that damn 18wheeler driven by the hulk came at us (I think thats the new rumor now).

GRRRRR **** AMRY DOCTORS!
They wouldnt help me on my follow up. Just took away my crutches and told me time would heal it. WTF!?!? I know my knee is royally screwed up but when I quiestioned them, I kept getting passive aggressive bull**** like, "oh your a doctor now?" and "oh yeah, we have magic to heal your knee." WTF. That was a Major then a full bird told me, "yeah well back home I have college football players with worse injuries and they are back to practice on tuesday." Mind you, I limp with half steps now. Another guy that was there tripped on the washrack and they are rolling out the red capets for him, taking him out for MRIs and everything. I just want my **** healed but they are refusing to take my injuries seriously. Funny, a lower enlisted gets pinned between two vehicles and get booted from the doctors, an NCO trips on the washrack and is getting vacations On a funny note. I'm trying to find the article or trying to get it from other people. Aparently I'm a hero in Kosovo where an American soldier ran out and pushed a child out of the way of a tractor and in the process suffered life threatening injuries to his legs As soon as I get the translated article I'll post it.

Make sure you get an LOD documented in case you need further treatment or it gives you problems later on in life.
And good work risking your life to save that little boy from impending doom at the wheels of a tractor, you are an inspiration to us all and truly live the Army Values
