No more stabilization?
I am currently deployed and am hearing rumors all over saying that there is no more stabilization for the guard anymore. This means that they can pull us for another deployment as soon as our plane lands back home. Can any other guardsmen chime in and tell me if this is true?

Stabilization is now 1 year instead of 5. Also, you no longer have 90 days from the end of your AD orders before you have to go back to drill, you now must go back to drill immediately.
Thankfully I have almost 60 days of terminal leave coming to me at the end of this deployment

I'm simply referring to the fact that militias are frowned upon in certain states (CA) and all we have left is the national guard who the people largely consider as their domestic protection. No need to get cranky.

Operation Yellow Ribbon. Not drills in the traditional sense of military training, it's a bunch of mandatory meetings for re-integration. Generally a couple of hours, bring your wife/family along. Takes place 30, 60 and 90 days after returning.
As far as stabilization in general, that five-year thing was never guaranteed to begin with. NTM |

You know the messed up thing is that they never did a proper rotation of units. In the ng, army, or marines. It was always the same units going back and forth. So it's now wonder our military is stressed to serve both fronts.

you are so right. there are units that have 1 tour and thats it. alot of units appear to be not needed in theater so they only go once or twice. i'm in a maintenance unit and they went once and i doubt they will go again. they didn't do maintenance in Iraq either.
