California newly enlisted aviation Sailors/Marines in aviation MOS's
Hey guys.
If you are joining the Navy or Marine Corps and are going into an aviation rate, you will be going to Pensacola, FL for training. I am an Avionics instructor down here. If you come down here, and let me know, I cant really do anything special, but would like to shake your hand for becoming a member of the Navy/Marine Corps team. AT1 |

I am looking forward to seeing him and his family while I am down there. We have a mutual friend that is pinning his Warrant bar on. I went thru AT 'A' school and AVSI when it was still in Millington.

Just curious how the SAR side of the base was treated after the rebuild. I heard you guys git ht pretty damn hard AT1 and that the Swimmer house got wiped out. Can you clarify any of that? I was long gone when all that went down.

well, McDonalds is gone, as well as the old gym over there and the old aircrew barracks/transient barracks. They built a new gym (Radford) and a new RS school. I have a buddy (OS2) that is cross rating right now going through it. That medical building over there is still there, but not open, not sure if they are going to reopen it or not. Bowling alley building is still there, but also not operating.

Hah, I was in VAW113 from 2004 till last summer. Made the 06 and 07 (as well as 08) cruises, and the workups in 05. Really is a small world.
