Default C&R Transfer from San Diego to Indiana

My Brother in San Diego has a few WWII bolt rifles he want to give me. I live in Indiana and have a C&R FFL. How do we handle this transfer?

Send to FFL in your state. To my knowledge it still has to go through a regular FFL if it's from different states.

C&R's can go directly to the C&R holder.

Just log them into your bound book.

He can ship them by common carrier or USPS.

Receive them directly with your C&R FFL.

It's annoying when people answer questions that they really don't have the correct answer to. It is also how FUD gets spread.

OP if you have a 03/C&R FFL your brother can ship them directly to you. Just email him a signed copy of your 03FFL for his records. It doesn't hurt for him to have a copy of it when he goes to ship the rifles in case he has any problems with the shipper. I use USPS Priority Mail w/Signature required for rifles and haven't had any problems. When you receive them, log them in your Bound Book and you're good to go.

^^^^ This.
You *ARE* the receiving FFL.
That covers you federally.
Only other issue might be if Indiana prohibits and 03 from receiving directly, which I do not believe to be the case.

Not having to go through a FFL on his end would make it more cost effective. Thanks for the help.

He *is* the receiving FFL, so long as Indiana allows it.
